So I found my old Speak n spell (texas instruments) in the attic of my parent's house. I was so excited b/c it still works and I can let my DD's use it.

I let DD#1 use it while I was in the shower, earlier, and she must've left it in there.
I know this b/c I just found DH on the toilet using the speak n spell...
he was playing the "guess the word game" and was losing. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I don't think I've laughed as hard as I just did in years...

Anyone else have an old toy that's still around? :cool1:

I think the funny part is that you found your DH on the toilet with it. What, no Reader's Digest available? :rotfl2:

My favorite was when it had you spell a word that is spelled at least two different ways.

Spell XXXXX, MEANING....

And of course...

That is incorrect, the correct spelling of XXXXX is...

When I read the title of your post I thought "no way, that can't be about MY speak and spell..." but lo and behold it is!! We had a math one too, although I can't remember the name of it. FUN!!

We still have the old Fisher Price airport and the Fisher Price Wild West town. I love the old stuff! I wish I had saved my Weebles - they don't have them in the stores anymore.

I loved mine!! I also had a Speak 'n Math, which I stunk at.

I still have my original Lite Brite and I also have my Disney Weebles. Mickey, Donald and Goofy!

Anyone see the dane cook skit about speak and spell? It was hilarious!! I'm trying to find it...

I've got a Merlin upstairs....one of those old, red, hand-held electronic games. I guess I got mine around 1974/75. It hasn't had batteries in it in over 20 years but I bet it would still work.

I loved Speak and Spell! I had such an issue understanding it sometime. That computer voice would pronounce something and I would be so clueless! :rotfl:

we did not want the kids to have a gameboy just because we have computer games and leap pad stuff but they found our old gameboy we bought for road trips when we were first married and now my kids love playing the black and white six golden coins game.
We have all of DH's old tonka trucks and they have really taken a beating over the years and my old legos from the 70's.

I've kept a bunch of my kids old 70's toys. The S&S got broken years ago but we've still got Speak and Math and it still works!

I've got the FP school house and the Sesame St. Apartment building. My son was cleaning out stuff a few weeks ago and gave me all the main Star Wars figures. :teeth:

I'm not sure what else is out in the garage. I've got two big boxes with toys in them. I do know what my oldest toy is though. My grandmother's doll. It was manufactured in the 1880's and has a bisque head and all her joints are movable. I'll try and take a photo of it later. It's just beautiful. :goodvibes

I have a very old sega hand held, original tetris, I know that's not that old. We still have the atari....somewhere, my sister on the other hand kept all her old toys. Barbies, etc. that date back to the 70's.

Smurf figurines, origianl strawberry short cake dolls, pet rocks,

I miss my merline and my space invaders games.

My sister and I both had them-tons of fun. She also got the speak and read and the speak and math.

I love the inflection of 'You are RIGHT'!

Suzanne

I have a working one of these along with a Speak-n-Math. :)

I loved these things and I'm going to let my DD use them now :thumbsup2
