spca and emergency vet (long rant)

Don't be turned off to the SPCA!! It's not their fault that people did not care for these animals. I was just pissed someone gave me incorrect info about getting antibiotics for him, and venting about the huge cost I incurred. It's not always totally rational :)
Right now I'd like to kick whoever left these tiny little kittens in a tin cookie box on the side of the sidewalk. Their little ears aren't even straight yet, and they can't even climb out of the basket I have them in. They really need their mom..they still have to be helped to go to the bathroom. People drop there animals off, and off course say they are healthy and a poor unsuspecting person such as herself comes along and ends up with a large ver bill!
Thomas is plucky enough and has some weight (10.5 oz), but little Edison (9 oz) has respiratory problems. Who know how long they went without nourishment :( Stupid people.

I'd say that if you adopt a pet, be sure to have about the same amount or 2x the amount of the adoption fee saved for that first vet visit. :goodvibes

That is so true! My DBF spent $300 for my dog. Two days later, I spent another $300 at the vet for an ear infection, shots he didn't have and a sore under his eye that the foster mom "just noticed that morning when she was grooming him". That was all 1-1/2 years ago though and worth every penny. It still annoys me that they didn't take care of him better.....they had him for a month before I got him.

I understand where you are coming from. Five years ago, My daughter's boyfriend found two tiny kittens in a trash dumpster and brought them to our house. They were less than two weeks old. They could do nothing for themselves so we became their mama and cared for them round the clock. They are now as happy and healthy as any five year old cats but I still can't believe someone could be so heartless as to leave two helpless babies in a dumpster in the August heat.

Jack looks like an adorable dog! Sorry for all that you have been through. Please post and let us know how he is doing. Our dog also came from the SPCA and has been one of the best we have ever had.
