Spas on board--are they pushy on sales?

I had pedicures, also, and the girls were not pushy either time. On our cruise in August, 2002, she hardly said 2 words to me which was fine because that way I could relax. She didn't attempt to sell me anything. In March the girl was a little more talkative but she was very interesting to speak to. She said that she was from Australia but previously had worked as a nanny in San Jose. After her contract on the Magic was up she was going to live in France. She told me that she was not going to give me a sales pitch because they were all out of the products that she uses.

DH had a massage last summer on the Wonder and I warned him about buying anything--he came out looking sheepish--the girl wanted to sell him something and he thought she was it was $14 so he got it--of course he misunderstood with her accent and it was $40!

We just got back from the 4/29 Wonder & my husband & I did a Reflexology w/a back massage. I was third in line. When the doors opened we were made to take a tour. The other 3 ladies & 1 gentlemen knew what we wanted to do but where still made to do the 15 min tour. By time we were done w/the tour there where 4 other people in line & when I asked for an appt for the day at sea I was told that it was already sold out. Now please tell me how that happens????? I had read on the boards how some people where able to make reservations prior to sail date but when I called I wasn't able to. So, be aware of being made to take the tour. They recommended products that we should buy but not big demand to buy.

We insisted on NOT taking the tour and got in line immediately to make our appts. The tour is NOT mandatory, and you could probably take it AFTER you book your appts.

DH and I did the couples massage with the REAS package over Easter. After the massage, one of the girls made her recommendation for us, we said no thanks, and that was it. It wasn't pushy at all.
