Any offer I would accept would include inferno, but I might accept an offer with some of the rarer beta items, whether I have them or not.

I do not understand your preface. Are you saying that any offer that included inferno would win, or that no offer without inferno has a chance?

as tempting as that is aengus, I really wanted to trade it for something that I dont have, like inferno and black rocket, or purple, cyan and black rockets. (I have none of those items. But if someone offered, say, 3 Green rockets, I would give that some heavy consideration.

well, I really think Sparrow is worth at least 3 Infernos, but I also enver mentioned stitch, so.... maybe next time you will PM that instead of sticking your nose in my trade request?

Off topic but I think relevent..."worth" in VMK is very subjective. While the typical trades seem to go Sparrow-->Stitch-->Inferno, that is not relevent to this thread. What he said was that any offer he would accept would include inferno. That means that Sparrow is that important to him that he would only part with it for that price. Similarly, by saying that he thinks that Sparrow is worth three inferno, he is indicating how important the Sparrow Costume is to him (or, oppositely, how important Inferno is to him). I personally would not part with my Sparrow Costume for anything less as well.

Sorry, not trying to "hijack" your thread, I just think that you should be allowed to ask for anything you want, since it is your trade thread.

Yes I am very glad that the values worked out the way they did! For me, the stitch hat is not very important, which allowed me to trade if for something really important, to me Sparrow is very important because I really dig pirates.

And I met a guy in game who would trade me sparrow suit for the stitch hat because he knew inferno offers that had two stitch hats in them and lots more to get one inferno. It really is strange how this market fluctuates on VMK!!

If you want to trade your Sparrow Suit and add more to your offer, I would bet that you could get a Stitch hat for it within a few days.

haha, no, I do not, but that is what I feel the value is. Stitch is much more rare than inferno, I actually do not feel that inferno is that rare at all, which is why you dont see me offering Sparrow PLUS for it. My personal opinion, just from what I have seen, regardless of what people are saying, Inferno is as common as Bat Magic, and actually, I think MORE common than Bat - but perception is 9/10ths of value, so, since people THINK it is rare, they trade crazy stuff for it, even though I frequently see people with 6/7/8 Infernos in their window but have never seen anyone with more than 3 Bats

i agree. i have seen inferno offers and stitch offers that include the whole sparrow costume and lots of beta and retired in park quest items. maybe you should aim for something a little more attainable..

I have no interest in bidding on this item (as it is WAY out of my league), but I feel the need as a DIS trade board regular to state that comments of worth and value are not permitted on trade threads.

"Worth" is whatever someone feels they want. If both sides are happy - the trade is "worth" it.

I have heard of an incredible trade today that basically made my head spin, but both sides were happy so each was "worth" the other.

I think you are right about bat magic. The law of supply/demand however makes bat worth less than inferno, since (even though bat is actually the coolest magic) people just like inferno more.

Having said all that, how many bats would it take to get your sparrow suit?
