Sparrow Game.....ughhhh

I have to agree with Maleficent2 and I-Love-Disney...having the shortcut out there and posting it all over the internet are two different things. My boyfriend found the link weeks ago, and we never had a problem until it got posted. He thinks they are just closing the game up, for the new movie (easy for him to say, he got the sparrow ) But since there has probably been a rush on the codes with 100's of people getting them, maybe they did run out of codes but now that the link is out there for the whole world to see, they are probably working to close it up. Why fill it up with prizes again, just to close it completely next month for the new movie?

So next time there is a short cut....tell your friends, but DO NOT POST IT ALL OVER THE INTERNET!

When you get the XXXXs, try highlighting them, and then hit the backspace key. Sometimes that will make the codes show up.

It is x-ing out on me too.
The backspace key does not work.
In all these months I have never gotten the Sparrow outfit

I'm putting my money on the game just ran out of codes. I think the rumor that the Sparrow costume was "easier to get" sent everybody running back there with avengence.

Anybody could figure out that you could reload the last screen to take a "shortcut" to another code. I hardly think VMK would consider that cheating on the part of the players. Either it was intentional on their part or it was a large oversight.

We'll have to wait and see.

The "Flying Dutchman" shortcut link has been posted many different times, starting very shortly after the game opened, on various websites. The "organ" link probably not so much, but I doubt that posting it now is making a difference.

The POTC game has either run out of codes or stopped functioning properly many times before. Each time it has displayed either "Xs" or "error". I'm assuming they need to restock it with codes, but if they don't, it would not be surprising, because of the new game starting on the "World's End" site.

I didn't say it was cheating. I'm saying that it is not cheating and therefore there is no reason for VMK to take any action to prevent people from using the shortcut. Furthermore, the shortcut is so easy to discover that it must have been known to the developers from the beginning. BTW, this is why I never really understood people feeling the need to protect it's secrecy.

By acting like the shortcut is some valuable secret you are implying that using it would be viewed negatively by VMK (read cheating). Is that not a logical inference from your fear of discovery? If there's nothing wrong with it then why hide it?
