Spare batteries in hold or hand luggage?

Anybody got a link to Manc airport latest regulations regarding where to pack spare batteries please? Like AA and AAA batteries. Is it safe for them to go into the hold is what I am really asking.

I use lithium AA batteries in my camera and I know I have to have them in hand luggage but I got the details from the BA site under personal and electrical items.

I usually bring spare batteries for momma's camera and put them in the checked in luggage. Haven't had a problem yet with them

As a safety measure, spares should be kept in carry on luggage and not be stored in checked luggage.

some airlines have put a ban on spares in checked luggage. Check with your airline, but to be on the safe side, keep them with you
