Spaldeen or Spalding

I actually have a cat named Spaulding (I didn't name him...he's a rescue cat, they named him, and it fits him well). I pronounce it Spal-ding.

I guess I could pronounce it the other way and he would respond just as well.

Well, I've never heard it pronounced anything other than Spalding.......but being involved with Little League I had to order equipment direct from them and they answer the phone "Spalding Sporting Goods".
