Spaceship Earth to close May 26th

Does this mean that Spaceship Earth will close 9pm on the May 25th?

Now I am thinking of trying to book a quick pre Memorial Day trip to get one last ride. This is me and DH traditional first ride and we just said after Princess 5k we woldnt be doing Disney until my 40th (2022) but our Feb Epcot day was cut short due to weather and post race morning tiredness - and now I am itiching to say screw it lets go for a 3 night, also see HS (which we skipped) and soak it all in.

Thanks for that. We arrive on 25th so now we know what we've got to do. Never Fastpassed Spaceship Earth before!

We always get FP because it’s one of the only Tier 2 attractions at Epcot where you actually need one at times. Standby can get surprisingly backed up.

So if Disney extends closure thru end of May, do we think that they will continue with SSE closure/refurb?

I think they'll wait to start with the refurb.

Hopefully there's no reason they can't keep the ride running 'as is' until they have funds in place to update.

that is my hope and thought. with all the other project delays, seems easy enough to leave it be for a while untli things are "back to normal"

I think it will happen but will be delayed. Of course though everything depends on how long the parks are closed.
I booked my June FP. Spaceship Earth is not available
As of right now I wouldn't read too much into this. I think we are going to see operational changes when the parks reopen anyways.

I was able to view up to June 26th as of this morning, and Spaceship Earth was not available any day.

i put credence into what @rteetz said, though, regarding operational changes. Perhaps they thought that since it was already off the schedule, it might be easiest to leave it there for now.

I would be surprised if SSE reopens before it’s renovation. I’ve read all the insider info. I’m sure that they are accurately describing Disney’s current thinking. But when push comes to shove I don’t see them reopening it.

With the cash shortage that Disney will have when the parks reopen, I can see them finish the rides already in process but would be surprised to see them start rehabing other rides until the cash flow improves. They could start the rehab of SE this summer, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it pushed back to 2021 to start.
