Is this something most young kids enjoy? Say ages 7 & 5? Or even younger (DD will be 5, but emotionally she's a couple years delayed, so would be on par with a 3 year old in many ways). Or would you skip it? Is there anything really loud/scary on it?

Not scary at all in my opinion. Dark and stuffy, but not too dark. My four year old loved it.

My youngest DD loved it when she was little (1, 3, 5), she is 8 now and next to RnR it is still her favorite!

Its fine, imo. It moves slowly and isn't loud. There are individual speakers in each chair/car. You travel up for the first part, but its very gradual. On the way down, your chair will be going backwards and it can feel a little steep, but again, it goes slowly and at that point theres an interactive game/touch screen happening in your chair to distract you. You can fit 2 adults and a child in one seat. It's always been one of my (timid) son's favorites .

My younger kids loved the part at the end where you make the little movie with yourself in it. They still love it now, but it was even more magic when they didn't understand the technology.

Always one of my kids faves. Easy, relaxing ride. We would ride over and.over when they were young.

My youngest rode it when she was 3, 4 and 5 and did fine. Both of my kids are not fans of dark rides and enjoyed this

My ds has loved the ride since he was about 3. Still rides every time we go and he is 17 now.

You can go over their ABC's with them and then thank the Phoenician's when you get there, lol.

:rotfl2:We quote that ALL the time!

OP my younger boys were 5, 7, and 9 the last time we went and they all enjoyed it. My DS 5 especially loved it. But, they all like history and technology, so it was kinda right up their alley. There's at least one hidden Mickey on it, too. (I seem to think there's two, but I'm sure someone else will know,)

There's quite a few hidden Mickey's in there actually.

My 5 yo freaked out -- really uncharacteristic for him. Not sure what triggered it, but all I know is when I was trying to calm him down, he must have pushed something on the screen and I was treated to the whole ride in Spanish :sad2:

Well, I was thinking there were...as many times as we rode it, I should have known for sure!

You know there is actually a book you can get that details about the hidden Mickey's... They're EVERYWHERE!!!!! There's also other hidden characters and things. Like the homage to Mr. Toad on Winnie the Pooh, the Nautilus in the rock work of the queue for the Little Mermaid, etc.

I do have the Hidden Mickeys book, but I did not know about the hidden homages. Too cool!

When DD was 4 (her first trip) she absolutely loved it. So much that we ended up making a last-minute, unplanned trip back to Epcot on our last night so she could ride it again.

DS was terrified of it at 2 (cried almost the whole way through) and refused to ride it at 3, but 4 must be the magical age because he rode it in December and now says it's his favorite ride at WDW, lol!

Personally, for me, Spaceship Earth IS Epcot, I can't imagine going there and not riding it!

Oh my gosh, I thought we were the only ones!!!

My 3yo is oddly obsessed with this ride. We had to ride it more times than anyone else ever wanted to. She calls it the "People Ride", because of all the animatronic people.

And a not so hidden John Kerry!!I had heard people mention it several times and found a video of him on the ride. The haircut is obviously off and the image on the video isn't great but I've noticed the AA on the ride before and the face is very close.

This was my five year olds favorite ride for a while back in the day. He absolutely loved every part of it.

They still love it now, but it was even more magic when they didn't understand the technology.
