Space Shuttle not heard from

The Space Shuttle was to have actually landed about 5 minutes ago (it is now 9:22 EST). It has not been heard from since about 9 AM. On CNN now.

I am afraid this is going to be bad. Basically Today's expert is saying there is no way it could have gone anywhere.

Also, they are reporting a major explosion in Dallas.

I can't believe this.

Unfortunately, it does not look good for Columbia. They've lost contact despite multiple backup systems and there are multiple white streaks in the sky.

I hope this tragedy is due to mechanical failure and not any terrorist action. The shuttle did have the first Israeli astronaut on board. God bless all of them.

looks like it broke in pieces during re-entry and reports of a "loud impact" outside of Dallas....

Facts are flying and not confirmed, but they say they lost it at 200,000 feet. If that's true, terrorism seems unlikely.

Our local ABC station has video of the shuttle breaking apart over the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It's so sad.

They just announced that if anyone in the the area finds pieces of debris in the area, do not approach it and to call the authorities.

OMG! I can't believe this is happening again!

DH just burst into the bedroom and told me to turn on the TV because they lost the shuttle.

I was devestated in 1986 with the Challenger disaster. I just can't imagine going through this again.
