Space shuttle launch

Let's hope they stick with the Feb 3 date. We will still be here and anxious to see another night launch.

We'll be at the Fort the first part of Feb and were REALLY looking forward to the Feb 3rd Launch. My son and I roadtripped to see the last one and really wanted to see one again. As of this writing I believe the next launchdate is in April so we're a little hopeful that we can save up to go again for the next launch :)

On a side note; any expense to see one is worth it, it really is!

My DH and I were at the Fort in early November to coincide with the launch, but it keeps being "rescheduled". We are heading back to Disney in late June and, at this rate, if we are lucky there will be enough rescheduling of this launch that we may still get to see it go up!.

I thought 2010 was the last year they were using the shuttles?

I for one would like to see them continue, Id like to see one launch in June:cool1:

Then you're in luck. STS 135 is scheduled for June 28.

Wow...are you serious!:woohoo::woohoo:. That is just the cherry on top! Thanks for the info. I will need to start monitoring the NASA site again!
If you're on FB, just "like" NASA and you'll get all their updates. They also have a nice app for the iPhone (best with wifi, tho).

I'm pretty psyched about this myself, especially since this is the day I check into VWL. I have no problems coming a day or two early, definitely driving down since I loved having my car last time! My entire life I have wanted to watch a live shuttle launch, with this being the last one it would be amazing!

The 2-24 launch looks like its a go. We have been told to be there at 11:30am. for a 4:50pm launch. I will post any updates as I get them.:thumbsup2

It's a religious experience. Please do post any-and-all updates; I'll be keeping up with them!

Looks like it's still a go for 2-24 we leave in the morning.

Did you make it?! The astronauts are suiting up now!!!! The suspense is killing me; I hope you get to see it as it's surely one of the Wonders of The World to behold.

FINALLY! Yes we were there at the Saturn 5 center at KSC they had 40 seconds left in there 10 minute window because of a computer cliche so it was almost scrubbed again:sad2::scared1: but it was a go and I cried like a baby as Discovery headed to space 1 last time. What an amazing experience:cloud9: . Just FYI STS 134 is scheduled for 4/24 and they added 1 more shuttle launch STS 135 for June.:thumbsup2

Me again, only 2 more launches and then we are done! Just to remind anyone who is camping at the Fort around the 19th that Endeavour is set to launch on Tuesday April 19th at 7:48pm EST. Should be an awesome night launch. I will post any changes as I get them.

And it begins:lmao:. I am having flashbacks to October:rotfl2:.STS 134 has been moved to April 29th @ 3:47 pm EST.......stay tuned:happytv:

We check in May 2, and it's always been in the back of my mind that if there was a delay, we might be in luck. So, we need one (or two) more delays! My husband and I have always wanted to see a launch, but living in the middle of the country, Missouri, it's kind of hard.
