Space shuttle launch tickets

Does anyone know how much the tickets are for the space shuttle launch? has anyone attended one of these before?

I was going to ask the same thing myself. There is a launch scheduled for Dec 7th. Check out the kennedy web site and the prices are due out tomorrow. According to the site you have to phone for tickets, not e-mail.

We were fortunate to see a Shuttle launch in 1997 though not via Kennedy Space Centre. We viewed it from a roof top restaurant in Cocoa Beach. No crowds excellent view and good food to boot.

Just called KSC the prices are as follows

Launch viewing area - 6 miles from launch site - approx $60

KSC - 10 miles from launch site - approx $40

Fingers crossed we get the launch viewing area! I am at work tomorrow so it will be up to DH to sort it out!

Hi, how lucky I am I will be in florida at this time.
Can anyone tell me if you can do the tour of space centre before the launch ?
or is it shut on a launch day ?

Can anyone tell me what it is like on a space shuttle launch day ?
is it busy ?

I was thinking of going for the space centre viewing area rather than launch viewing area.

They tend to close KSC on the day of the launch.
All the access roads to the area are heavilly gaurded by the local police / state troopers.

You will find it difficult to get close , unless you have launch tickets.

However, there are loads of places on the coastal roads to see the launch from about 10-15 miles away.
