Space Mountain seating?

I thought I knew this and now it's a question for me again: on Space Mountain, aren't the rockets two-seaters, with two riders front and back? Not side by side, right?

It looks like the mini ride video on the Disney World website shows two riders side by side. Is that the Disneyland configuration or something?

DS5 is now tall enough to ride Space Mountain when we go (in 10 days!) but I'm not sure he's up for it, less so with what I thought was the he's-all-on-his-own seating. If it were side by side I might be more inclined to encourage him.

You're right - it's front to back seating, and no one is sitting next to you. I don't know about the DL one. HTH!

The Disneyland version is side by side. Rode it earlier this year and it was more comfy and less jerky.

MK's is single-seat. Disneyland's is double.

For whatever reason, the videos usually show Disneyland's version (even some of the planning videos).

We have never taken DD & DS on Space Mountain. Hmmm come to think of it, DH has never been on either! I was on Space Mountain many years ago in DL and remember side by side seating. DS was excited to meet the height requirement this year and we were planning on going on. I'm not so sure now if they would be sitting separately from us.

They would be right in front of you, or in the middle or behind. You can make sure you are at least in the same car with your kids. They just can't sit next to you like on Splash Mt.
