Space Mountain New Audio

I took a trip out to the Magic Kingdom tonight and took a video of the new Space Mountain with the addition of what I really have to refer to as sound effects more than a full music track. You really can not hear the music clearly throughout the ride like in Disneyland since the speakers are not in the car. But you can judge for yourself in the video. Once word about the new sound system going in came about, people realized this was not the full audio system DL received, but an ambient sound system because the speakers were in fixed locations.

I agree! I was very disappointed with the Disney World rehab. After I rode the Disneyland version this past summer I am even more disappointed! What a great job they did with Space Mountain in Disneyland. I wonder why they didn't do a better job rehabbing the Disney World version.

I rode the Space Mountain at Disneyland for the first time a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe how different it was. My favorite difference was the audio they have playing in harmony with the ride.
I agree as well with the refurbishment being a waste of money and time.

Aw, I don't know if the refurb was THAT bad. At least we did get something cool out of it, rather than just a standard refurbishment. I agree that the off-board audio is not as cool as Disneyland's, but I think it's better than the old MK Space Mountain.

The MK Space Mountain music sounded like the neighbor 2 houses down the block was having a loud party.

Very disappointing.

The only thing that is an improvement to me between Disneyland and Disney World is the queue in California feels straight out of the 70's. Really weird color scheme over there.
