Space Mountain & larger folks

I would really like to try to ride Space Mountain but I am a plus side gal.
I wear a size 28, I carry a lot of the extra weight around the middle & my hips. Is Space Mountain going to be a problem for me? Is there any seats (front vs. back) that are a little roomier?
I know it is side by side seating, is it one lap bar or each person has their own lap bar?

I would hate to get up there after standing in line just to find out I can't fit. I wish there was a way I could sit in one of the cars just to see if it would work.

So how roomy is Space Mountain?

You should be fine. The second and third rows of each car have the most leg room. They are individual lap bars and I've seen people a whole lot bigger than a size 28 ride with no problems. The new cars are bigger and roomier than the old ones.

As a previous size 24 (255lbs at that time) who carried the weight the same way, I can say it won't be an entirely comfortable ride (even in the newly designed cars). Your thighs will be squished a bit. Will it still be fun and worth it? You betcha! (The first thing I said to my DH when I lost weight was "Wow... They made the cars bigger!")

I have the same question, but I'm also interested in the Matterhorn---I'm a 24 like the OP, and the cars look to be a bit small...

When you go on the Matterhorn, just ask to be seated seperately (aka, travel as a party of 1). That way there won't be anyone in your lap. These cars are FAR more comfortable than Space Mountain's for heavier folks. No worries!

(And you might want to ask to sit on an end when you go on Indy too).

The matterhorn has plenty of room. I went with my son who was 3 at the time and there was plenty room without being crushed
