We are planning a trip for September, and we had actually hoped to miss all of the Halloween madness that we experienced last year.

Now, it looks like the last day of our vacation is Disneylands first day of Halloween-time (Sept. 17th).

Do you think that Space Mountain will be closed while we are there? How long do you think it will take for them to change over to the Ghost Galaxy overlay? :confused3

I am just looking for some educated guesses! :worship:

On the positive side, I love Haunted Mansion and I am excited that it will re-open on our last day in the park! :woohoo:

I remember reading long ago (well, last year when they first installed Ghost Galaxy) that the first years' overlay would be the longest and that subsequent years would only take a few days to switch over. Now, it's anyone's guess how many days Disney constitues as a "few".

If you shadow around the Halloween at DL thread you can be sure it will be announced there when we know. But seeing as you aren't looking for a Halloween themed trip, I can see why you wouldn't. But I'm thinking we'll know around mid-July.

I remember hearing the same thing as PP said; it should only take them days to do the overlay. :goodvibes
Like most things Disney it's subject to change :scared1:

Let's put it this way....to UNDO the overlay it was only closed a day. I'd expect the same time frame to turn it back on.

Halloween season officially starts on the 17th so it should already be finished and ready on that day.
