Space Mountain for chickens?

I wanna ride it but I think it might be closed when I go to WDW. Aren't the seats just one per person one after another? If I do go on it, do you think I should take my glasses off-just in case?

Yes, the seats are in rows of three and one person per row.
I'd recommend you take your glasses off..My camera was around my neck and that almost came off too! D:

I actually think glasses would be fine.
I'm pretty sure my parents wore theirs.
I'm not sure. I can't remember how much my parents wore theirs.. all I remember was we did make a trip to the local CVS to get some stuff to keep their eyes from drying out with their contacts.

I think I'll take my glasses off just in case. I took my glasses off for TOT-evne though I don't think I needed to. Thanks Hilary.

Okay thanks Pirate.

No. I kept my glasses on and they stayed on fine. There's no way they'll fly off.

It's a pretty tame ride, my biggest fears in a ride are heights and drops. I don't do the stomache feeling well. I love Space Mountain though. Does anyone else not put their hands up because of the bars you can see? I feel like i'll hit my hands, but the ride is really "easy". Two years ago I wouldn't go near a coaster, but after Space I gave others a chance. Now I ride nearly everything in the parks.

I put my hands up all the time and they've never touched anything. I'm sure they put enough room with the tracks so people would hurt the hands.

Sorry for all the questions, but does the ride seat have a bar or something? In other words, what is there to hold on to? Does anything come down?

oh i just searched online

it originally just had a seat belt

but in 1980 they but in a lap bar instead

then in 1998 they but in an even better lap bar

::yes:: It's a lap bar. The seats are teeny tiny and your legs will get all smooshied under the seats if you're really tall. It's sort of funny to see adults try and wriggle in the seat to adjust. Your legs have to be bent up the whole ride.

Okay, thanks Pirate.

I'm a chicken and have been on Primeval Whirl, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain (although i didn't really like Splash Mountain). I would never go on Rock'n'roller Coaster or Expedition Everest but i did do Space Mountain and absolutely loved it  . If you liked Splash Mountain you would like Space Mountain.

Hey I finally met someone who also hates roller coasters! :goodvibes

If you have any further worries or genrally just want a chat feel free to PM me.

Space Mountain isnt that bad.
My mom hates roller coasters,
but she loved space mountain.
You should seriously try it.
No Disney fan is complete
without riding it! :)

I LOVE space mountain!

It is my favorite ride at Disney World. It IS a little scary at first but it is SO worth it. I would say try it...:)

I have ridden Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Primeval Whirl, and Expedition Everest.
I feel like the biggest chicken by not riding Space Mountain.
I finally am going to ride it in March because I thought, "Hey, if I can ride everest which has an 80 something feet drop, I can ride this small ride!"

:wizard:
I may ride RNR but I am still a little worried..:scared1:

:wizard: Holly.

It's honestly not bad. It's not even that dark. It dosen't go too fast and the drops aren't high. It's mostly a lot of spins and that stuff and it's very short. I used to be a HUGE ride chicken now I ride everything. If you can do BTMRR you can do Space. Try it!!!

I've been going on it since I was tall enough to get one. But then again I'm a daredevil. :cool2:
