Space Mountain Closed?????

The DL version is awesome. You really feel like you are floating in the stars. It also has a soundtrack. Much easier to get in and out of.

I have to agree, when I was on it last November the jerky feeling was too much for me. So much I probably won't be back on unless they do upgrade it.

I guess I'm one of the only ones to not want it re-furbed? I've not been a Disney fan for that many years, but it's kind of nice to have an attraction that is 'classic' and not be updated. In my 6-7 years of being a Disney fan, they've changed quite a few rides just as I was getting used to them.

Some refurbs were good, others not at all. I'm still mad about the wand at Epcot, so take that for what it's worth, lol.

I agree......this is one of the "classics". I remember riding this as a kid on my first trip to Disney in the 1970s with my dad - what an awesome memory! I love it!!!! As for it being jerky - that's what rides are all about!! Almost every ride has some jerkiness to it!!!!!!

We will be there in April...... I knew thie 12-18 mo shut down would fall during our trip, oh well, theres a reason to plan a return trip !!

Ditto that. The DL version is an awesome refurb and I hope WDW's follows suit.

Can a "pooh" sized Mom fit on it ok or will it be a tight squeeze??

Speaking as a Pooh-sized Mom, I fit fine. It can be a challenge getting in and out, but that is mainly because it is kind of low to the ground and you have to step down into the car.

We rode it when it was brand new at WDW! (yes we are old) As for being "classic" The original was WAY FAST, and WAY SMOOTH! I love it, but would love the old speed and smooth tracks restored. (BTW~ when it was new, it was TOTALLY dark!)

I heard that the one in DL goes upside down if so I do not want DW to do this....I love the ride just the way it is.

I am so not a roller coaster person, but I would love to see it updated before my son is tall enough to ride it with DH, side by side would be great. My only problem with a refurb is that it would surely affect our beloved TTA (aka "the blue train").

Maybe being a mom makes me a little crazy and overprotective, but I refuse to go on it again until it feels safer. With people getting stuck seemingly every couple of days, I'd rather not risk leaving my children without a mother. And this from me, who will ride literally anything else!:confused3
