I was able to get on at 5:35 this morning and book without issue from CBR on Disney WiFi…booked 10/1 for 4 of us. I wonder if being on Disney WiFi helped with the speed and response. It was really quick and responsive…I was kinda shocked

I just watched a video of it, too! Was not interested enough just based on the menu but after seeing the video of the inside of the place with that cool space-y background music they've got playing...sign me up. DH is going to think it's super cool.

Guess what! Space 220 has its own trading cards, which have “custom illustrations” and “trivia facts about space exploration, food in space, and sky-high innovations at Space 220.”



These trading cards come with every kids’ meal at Space 220, which only kids are allowed to order. So, they will automatically get a pack of cards when they order off of the kids’ menu!



Kids could also get a pack of trading cards by ordering one of the Kids’ Zero-Proof Sippers, which is shaped like a rocket! However, the trading cards are limited to one pack per person, so kids cannot order a kids’ meal AND the kids’ sipper and get 2 packs of trading cards — they will still only get one pack.

While I'm from Pittsburgh, I unfortunately no longer live there. But Kennywood (Amusement Park) is my favorite place on earth. (Yes, Disney comes in 2nd....lol)

I thought that Disney confirmed this summer that Dining Plans will be coming back...

I would think of the dining plan along the same lines as fast passes... they brought FPs back with a different name and now with a price tag... expect whatever you knew about dining plans to be very different and to either cost more or have less value.

I admit, I use dining plan years ago but started getting Tables in Wonderland instead... Now it appears TIW is gone too...

It's going to take a little bit till Disney gets fully staffed and opens all of the restaurants back up. Till then, I wouldn't expect a dining plan as that only makes things crazier for the staff when they aren't ready for it.

Discounts and pushing more volume (ala Dining Plans) only makes sense as a company when you have excess capacity to absorb the demand. With the craziness of limited ADR's it seems we should be still a ways from a dining plan assuming they act in a traditional good-business-focused manner. Hopefully as they get close to 100% staffing we'll see Dining Plans come back soon thereafter.

Someplace new like Space220 will be a big draw for those who just have to see whatever is new at Disney or those where money is no object. They set the prices high to try and manage the crowds. How many times people will return for a $12 soft drink (that includes a pack of trading cards) or $55 lunch is hard to tell. Particularly when there are so many other reasonably priced places to eat at Epcot. I can imagine those trying to 'game' the system who want to see what it looks like sitting at the bar and not eating anything. Not sure if there will be a cover charge to sit at the bar, but wouldn't be surprised. If that becomes an issue, they might only let you sit there while waiting for your table reservation.

I really discussed it with my family and the vote was 'no' because I told them they could not substitute anything on the menu. The entertainment value did not offset the inability to substitute brown rice, etc. Plus they don't like mandatory courses.
