Does anyone have experience with a 2-year-old at Space 220? I understand how pricing for them works at buffet, family style, and a la carte restaurants, but I'm not sure about prix fixe. Will the server bring a small plate of something for them? Or is the only option to pay the full price of a kids meal?

I think I ended up buying a meal here for my 20 month old. I forgot it was prix fixe and it's not Disney operated so even if I did ask about something comped, I don't think it would have been offered.

They have an a la carte menu for the lounge. I'm sure they'll let you order off of that, though I wouldn't describe it as toddler friendly.

I'd just let them eat off your plate.

Under 3 is free if they eat off your plate. If you order it would have to be consistent with how you order. If you are in the dining room the charge will be the 3-9 price. In the lounge it's a la carte. I assume they have a menu for that but I dont know as my child us 16.

We were there in January and they offered my 2 year old a plate of mac and cheese.

Thank you! I've read that some prix fixe restaurants do this (Cinderella's Royal Table) but it doesn't seem to be consistent. Hopefully this will be the case for us as well as there really isn't food on the adult plates that we could share (or want to! It's too expensive and delicious 😂 ).

He got the mac and cheese at Space 220 and Artist's Point. Everywhere else we had him share his older brother's food.

I’ve been twice, both the lounge. First time the waiter offered free mac n cheese which was really nice. Second time the waitress also mentioned Mac n cheese but charged the full price fixed for it which we were not expecting since they didn’t do that the first time. It was fun to go but we won’t be going back

Potentially another example how dining guidelines are being "enforced". I think if I were going now I wouldn't plan on anything so be ready to make do. I think I'd bring in some food items in case they don't provide anything without a big cost.

We ate in the restaurant and I bought a meal for my 20 month old at the time, that mac n cheese must be good because she put her head in the bowl like she was a dog to eat it.

I agree, we won't plan on anything, but it would be nice to know for sure what the guidelines are. It's clear that for buffets and family style restaurants with a fixed charge, kids 2 and under are free. It's also clear that for a la carte restaurants you have to pay for anything you order no matter who it's for. But prix fixe are a combination of the two - it's frustrating that it's not clear or consistent how these restaurants are handled for kids 2 and under.

I go by what was the published info when my kids were younger, and keeps getting verified by the questions submitted to Disney (I only pay attention to those submitted since Disney has absorbed Mom's Panel into their website and considers it their answer) and that is under 3 do not have to pay the required prix fixe charge like the others but they are expected to share a parent or siblings meal. When my kids were younger this wasn't even a conversation but it seems the last 10+ years restaurants stop enforcing. Why? I don't know but at some point (and Topolino's is a perfect example) guests began taking advantage. Disney warned us last year that they were going to save money via actions in the dining division. You really can't regulate a buffet or all you can eat. Prix Fixe and a la carte you can. For prix fixe I think all the 2 and under gets as a perk is they don't have to pay if they don't want to order a meal, and just share.

Bottom line it's Disney where three calls get you three answers. Not sure they'll ever get their act together.

I think it depends on your waiter. When I went with my 2 yr old, our waiter was super nice and brought. My DD Mac and cheese and a drink. He also let me switch the appetizer to some fries cause I didn’t like the appetizer choices. However, other restaurants we went to didn’t offer 2 yr old anything unless we paid. She and I both don’t eat much so she generally just ate off my plate.
