Just trying to get a little info. Is anyone planning to try to go for the grand opening? I’m going later this week to Epcot and was planning to try to walk up and get a reservation. If I walk up do you think the reservation will be for the current time only or do you think it will be for a reservation for a later time during the day? I don’t want to waste my morning standing line in hopes to try for a dinner reservation if it’s not something they are going to offer and they are doing current admittance only.
if anyone is planning to go could you post your experience? Thanks!

I'm sure we will have tons of info tomorrow. It could honestly go either way TBH but if I had to bet, I'd *guess* it's gonna be like a regular restaurant where you're getting on the list for the next available table.

Yes thank you. That’s what I was thinking. My initial plan was to go straight over tomorrow while the rest of my party went on some attractions but I don’t want to wait there only to be told we are set to go when I really wanted it 4 hours from now. Perhaps if we get in a waiting list they will give us a callback. Like, the wait time is 3 hours. Leave your phone number. However, that would make it difficult to do anything because I don’t want to be riding frozen when I get my callback. I guess that’s a good way to spend your whole day. Just waiting to check in.

We won’t know until tomorrow, of course, but I think they might use the Walkup Waitlist functionality that’s in MDE now. They put you in the line and send a push notification when it’s your turn, and you have a certain amount of time to return to be seated.

Where is the walk up wait list in MDE?
Some but not all restaurants and lounges have it. For instance, when in AK you can pull up Nomad Lounge, and one of the options to click on is Join Walk-Up List. If you're in the park, you can click on that, and it will tell you roughly how long the wait is, let you tap to join the list, and then it will send a notification when it's your turn. (I'm home now, so it tells me I'm too far away and won't let me join the list.) I don't know for sure that Space 220 will use that capability, but they might during the time it's walk-up only as well as when they're booking ADRs.

Bumping this thread now that reservations have officially gone into effect. Can anyone provide an updated walk-up experience for those interested in dining at the lounge sans reservations?I didn't see any "Walk-up List" options for Space 220 in MDE today. Is it only a physical line or are they using an in-person waitlist?

Dang, I can’t find it but I thought I read somewhere that it’s walk-up list with a CM at the front of the restaurant gathering phone numbers on a first-come, first-served basis.

I think that it was reported the Lounge area can order off the regular menu (but not visa versa) which leads me to think the waitlist will be used mostly for the lounge like the picnic tables have been used at Sci-Fi in the past. But the same person said lounge was going to be "first come first serve" ??

Looking forward to following next couple weeks to see how it goes, we are there in November. I would prefer the lounge so we'll see if they merge the two or have you wait different.

This was reported in the Space 220 thread in the Disney Restaurants forum:
Was over at Epcot this past Friday for F&W. We decided to walk over to Space 220 around 4:30 to see what the walk up situation for the lounge was like. We were told that the wait to get into the lounge would be 1.5 - 2 hours. We passed. It is first come, first served - no virtual waitlist so you have to wait there.
