Space 220 - could only get a resy for 4?

Hi,

So I've been trying to get a reservation to Space 220 for a while now... and finally one popped up. The issue is, we are 2 people and the reservation is for 4!

I do want to continue to try to find one for 2. But will that cause any problem if I have a reservation for 4 and 2 only shows up?

For some reason searching for 2 at many WDW restaurants right now is not yielding many openings & the few I saw were at bad times (dinner at 3:30 or at 8:30 for example,) I found searching for 3 worked, unlike the old days when 4 worked better than 3. In our case our 3rd person is still trying to get more days off work, so I just got reservations for 3 in case she can get away early.
Historically as long as one person showed up you weren’t charged the no show fee. Dinner experiences you have to prepay for have a different set of rules.

I think you’ll be fine. When is your reservation for? I’m still looking for a Space 220 reservation for 4 on November 26 or 28 so if you happen to find a one for too and need to cancel, let me know please. TIA

No problem at all. We do ADRs for 4 but dine with 2 all the time. We ate at Space 220 on September 30, adr for 4 but DS & DDIL had lunch there a few days before & decided not to come for dinner . So we ended up just the 2 of us. Still had a great booth right on the window level. And just as normally happens, no questions, comments or funny looks because we were 2 short. Enjoy!

So they sat you at a 4 top?

We did end up eating there. But I didn't really love our 2-top table location all that much. It was on the lower level with a good view of the windows, but it was up against the 'wall' of the next level up and there was a table right there on that level above us. The guests in that table kept reaching over to take selfies and such - if they dropped their phone it would have literally fallen right on my plate. Plus from my vantage point if I looked right I was looking under their table at their legs in a sort of awkward/close position.

It wasn't a fatal flaw in the experience, but had us thinking next time we'd rather sit at the bar or somewhere else they could put 2 instead of that location.

So they sat you at a 4 top?

Yes, we were in one of the booths against the windows right in the middle of the room, across from the stairs. It was great for the “view” at our window, but really can’t see the rest of the windows very well.

The table/ experience you had sounds really annoying. I saw a few 2 tops on the next level up that were right along the walk way. I felt bad for the man sitting there that had groups stopping right next to him to take pictures the whole time he was eating. Yuck.
