Spa Tipping

Are spa tips based on a percentage of your spa bill, or....?? what is customary (sorry, i'm a spa-novice). Do you pay cash or charge to room or...???

I've posted this on a thread somewhere, don't remember seeing a reply, so...thanks for any info!!!

Here's some info on Spa Tipping:


Spa Tipping

Massage Therapist 10% to 20% per massage.

Aesthetician 10% to 20% per service.

Spa Attendants At a resort spa, tip the spa attendants about 5% of your total bill at the front desk. If any particular attendant went above and beyond for you, you should tip that attendant individually. At day spas, it is not customary to tip the attendants. However, if the day spa is one that you frequent regularly and the attendants go the extra mile for you, you may want to tip here, as well.

As with all tipping, many factors figure in. The quality of the service you receive, attentivness of the individual providing the service, how service-intensive the treatment was, etc.

You tip at the spa..like you do for dinner.

We usually tip 20% for good service..and give more if the person was great at whatever service we were using.

DH and I had our first massage ever on the ship (Couples, wellbeing, aromathearpy). We tipped 20%.

i always tip in cash so that they dont have to report it to uncle sam if they dont want 2.
