Hi All!
I was looking at the information about the spa on the ship and can't wait to try it out. I didn't have enought time on my first cruise! I do have a question though. My best friend and I will both be going but one of us is rather... modest. How do you dress for the differnt theripies? would a bathing suit be okay? We were thinking about doing the neck and shoulder massage or the tropical rainforest.
Thanks,
Minnesota

I was wondering this as well. I had never been to a true "spa" until last month and needless to say - I was totally unprepared as to what to wear. Some people had nothing on - some had suits on - some had partial coverage - it was very confusing. I only had a facial and head, neck and shoulder massage but at both places they asked how I dressed under the robe.

We had the cabana massages at Castaway Cay and I only had to take down the top of my bathing suit so they could access my back. DH didn't have to take off his trunks at all.

Also, the Rainforest Room requires bathing suits. This is just a come and go place where you can relax or sit in the sauna or shower with different scents, etc. I LOVE this place! Remember that you get a discount on it for an all day pass the same day that you have a massage in the spa (this doens't apply to the cabana massages - or at least it didn't in 2000 when I cruised last.)

PS: The ladies giving massages can be very pushy while they are working on you suggesting that "your skin is very dry - what kind of products do you use? I can show you some of our products. . ." It got very annoying after awhile. Next time DH and I have vowed to politely tell them that we prefer they don't talk while we get our massages. ;)

I have a special page on my website for "spa virgins." Since I am a veteran of so many spa treatments, I am definitely not shy. But I know that many people are, so let me assure you that the spa therapists are used to it and will do their best to make you feel comfortable. You can strip all the way down, wear your undies, or even wear your swimsuit for some of the treatments (you'll need to pull the top of it down for the massage). For the seaweed wrap, they provide paper panties (and, on the Magic, black paper boxer shorts for the men, as hubby discovered). Just let them know up front if you are shy and they will make their best effort to put you at ease. They deal with shy people all the time.
