I'm planning on some surprises for my DH for our upcoming trip and one of them is going to one of the spas for something ? Maybe a pedicure/massage.
Has anyone done this and did you enjoy it ? Where did you go ? I'm looking at the Mandara Spa. Thanks!:flower3:

I sent my husband and son to the SSR Spa for a men's facial after I had a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure there (DVC member package). They both enjoyed it immensely.

I did the Dolphin the first year.

Next year I did GF.

Three years ago, I did SSR and hands down the best of all.

Sit on the deck at Turf Club for apps and drinks afterwards. Best day ever.

If you don't mind me asking, what services did you do ?

I've also done all 3, more than once. I also prefer SSR but the Mandara is nice enough when I'm staying at one of the EPCOT resort hotels.

Here is the link to the Spa at SSR:

I did the Adriondack Stone Massage and then sat in the sauna.

I've only been to SSR, because I love it so much!!

I've had the custom facial, the deluxe facial, a couple swedish massages and reflexology sessions there. The women's lounge is great, and I'll continue to go there for sure. They also have AP/DVC discount.

The few times I've considered and called Mandara.... they weren't very friendly on the phone. I'll stick with SSR :)

I surprised my DH one year with a massage at GF. He liked it. But I think the spa there is closed now because of the construction.

I prefer the Mandrian Spa over all others, but then again, its been the one I've had the most experiences with. I was NOT thrilled with my services at SSR. I kept telling the therapist she was TOO hard and she did not let up, I was so freaking glad to be out of there. I HATED paying all that money for one of the worst spa experience of my life. Interestingly, this happened to both DH and I at GC in DL while we were getting a couple message to the point that he admonished BOTH therapists that were beating the ever living crap out of us! He raised such a fuss we got free services the next day and that was just to work out the knots that they had made and the CM seemed to know it was an issue (honestly, I wished we hadn't gone back and they had just reduced the price, it was more time out of our day and we almost missed our reservations at Napa Rose). We've never had an issue other than these at all of our Disney Parks experiences, but I won't be back to SSR and I've had some of the best services in the world (I mean, the 5 continents I've been to) at Mandarian Spa.
