Hi

My DD (14) and I have decided to have a girls day on our own and I'm keen to have some treatments at a spa. We are staying at POR but I don't think there is a spa there. Can anyone suggest anywhere else? Can we use any other of the WDW resorts?

definitely!!!

you can ride the boat to DD, then transfer to SSR/OKW boat.

but I would ask first - before when it was the DI and you want to use the gym, the boat driver for the PO would allow you off at this stop. then when you wanted to go back to the PO you would lite a light.

Now if they still use this method - or you need to go to DD and transfer - you can definitely use the SPA at SSR.

Now your 14 year old could walk from DD to the Spa at SSR - but since you didn't say your age.... in your late 40's I would take the boat. In your early 40's or 30's - definitely walk from DD.

Forget the SSR or GF Spas. They are over priced for the level of service and amenities. They are not world-class, not even close, but like to pretend to be.

Instead, really treat yourself and make appointments at the Canyon Ranch at the Gaylord and take a cab back and forth.

Another option would be the Mandara at the Dolphin. I haven't tried it, but know several people who ahve and loved it!

My wife has never said anything negative about the spas at GF and SSR, nor has she said that Mandara was better. Although she has said that the spa at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes was the best in Orlando for her so far. I'll tell her to try Canyon Ranch next time, or maybe we'll try staying there for a weekend.

Well, Conde Nast thought the Spa at SSR was good enough to rank it #5 in their Top Resort Spa list.....
I have never experienced, just did the tour. I am planning on a service or 2 when I am there in December....I know they have a Mother/Daughter item on their services menu. You can call them and they will fax a menu list:)

Have Fun!!!
