Just wondering if anyone out there has spent any time at this Spa, and if so what can you tell me about it?

What type of treatment did you do? Did you like it? How long ahead did you have to book your spa treatment? How is the service?

What is the Spa itself like? Are the areas for foot massages/pedicures spacious offering any privacy or quiet space, or are there just chairs lined up together?

How is the shower area? And the massage area?

Any information is greatly appreciated, as I'm thinking of booking a spa day during my 3 night november trip with my two cousins.

It's fantastic. Pricey. I've always called the same day for an appointment and gotten it, even in July. Here's the link, click on locations and then on SSR.

Thanks for the info! May I ask, have you ever used the Spa at the Grand Floridian? Which do you prefer? I'm thinking Spa at the Grand Floridian and lunch or tea or dinner in the hotel? But I do want the Spa experience to be the best.

Thanks again

I have used both spas..and the spa at the Floridian has NOTHING on the SSr spa

The SSr spa is amazing, uses "better" products in my opionon (GM Collins) and has more options.

At SSr I have had:

hydromassage therapy (the best thing going)
hot stone massage
soomehting of the forest massage..cant remember name
pedicure
facial

I find the prices to be in line with Boston or NYC prices...very good time

Thank you! I will be looking into SSR Spa for a day there with my cousins, then dinner somewhere special and "grown up" :thumbsup2

I've had 2 massages and booked both on a few hours notice (but it wasn't a busy season). I think it's pricey, but so is most of WDW.

Try to allow extra time to use the jacuzzi and sauna in the women's locker room, if you like those things. It's immaculate! There's tons of towels and hair dryers with products to use. The attendant kept picking up so often that if I lay a towel down on a chair to soak in the jacuzzi, it was gone.

After you put your clothes in the locker and don the big robe, you go to a lounge to wait for your treatment. There's some type of beverage and fruit. It's a co-ed lounge, so be sure your robe is all you want it to be. The treatment rooms are quite large, with very comfortable tables and nice music piped in. I'm all about the atmosphere and serenity, and SSR spa delivers the ambiance. I, too, had the mystical forest treatment and recommend it -- massage on my back and something like accupressure on feet and hands when I turned over. The massage oil was "foresty" and quite lovely.

I'd go again and highly recommend it to others, although I gulp when paying over $100 (with DVC discount) for a 50 minute massage that I can get for $55 for 60 minutes in Connecticut. But, I'm on vacation, and this is a real treat! Enjoy!

Thanks! I know what you mean about pricey, but for me, going to a spa at home, just doesn't cut it. It's not something I'll take the time to do and it doesn't feel "special". I prefer to save it for a vacation.

When I was in Vegas, I paid $90 for a foot massage and pedicure, plus extra for the scrub! OUCH!........but, it was the most relaxing experience (next to the hot stone massage that is :) )

I LOVE the High Tea at GF. Regardless of which spa you choose, you MUST do this. It's fantastic. Get the whole shabang that includes the champagne. It's
only $25/person. Compared to the spa, not bad at all! :thumbsup2

Please explain what the High Tea is? I never heard of it, and you've piqued my interest :)

Thanks,

truly agree... I was able to enjoy both places but favors SSR more... also I know I will only do GF if i am staying at GF... I like to do the spa and a complete laid back kind of day... a nice walk around the area... a juice and yogurt before going to the spa itself... after the spa session... goes back to room and take a nap :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: wake up refreshed.. and maybe a show or a meal by DTD::yes::

Ok this made me chuckle. I was there last week waiting for my facial and behind me was a couple waiting for their massage. When I got up to get some water the man was just sitting there in his robe - legs wide open - got a view of it all. He just looked up nodded and smiled. Still don't know if he realized what he was doing (could have) - but none the less I had a story for my DH when I returned.

As for the spa itself - yes, beautiful and very classes. The "locker" room was great.....but more like a designer bathroom! The whirlpool was wonderful after my facial and so was the sauna. Yes, $200 for the facial with tip - was my first one so I really can't compare how good it was to anything else.

I made my appointment about 2 hours in advance. 4:00pm on a Thursday. The place had nobody in it while I was there......well except for the flasher and his wife!
