Has anyone been able to get a soy free milk shake anywhere? I am not allergic, just intolerant. I could do rice dream with a splash of soy milk but not tofutti and soy milk.

Thanks!!

You can get milkshakes with rice milk and rice dream ice cream at several places. My 11yo can't handle soy milk though she can handle Tofutti (there's some other ingredient she can't handle in every soy milk we've ever tried; we just don't know what). She's gotten milkshakes at 50s PTC, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Pop Century food court and POFQ food court. She chose not to get one at Plaza Restaurant but she was offered. I'm pretty sure each of these places does have Rice Dream ice cream; they definitely had rice milk (Pacific brand at the time). You know, I haven't heard if the rice products have changed or not; at this point I assume they're still Pacific for the milk and Rice Dream for the ice cream but with the other changes being made, there's no way to be sure without asking and I do recommend asking.

What about just a regular milk shake? AFAIK, that's soy free. Wouldn't that just be regular ice cream and regular milk? If they aren't then what the heck have I been drinking?

I was assuming OP was milk free as well.

One thing I did forget to mention is cross contamination. I don't think anywhere has a dedicated soy free mixer. Since you're ok with a splash of soy milk I assume you're ok with cross contamination as well. Of the places I mentioned, only Sci-Fi had a dedicated milk free mixer. 50s PTC we won't get a milkshake again because I think that's what caused some minor stomach upset in my girls (they used to have a dedicated one but they didn't on our last try there). I know at Pop, POFQ and Plaza they used the regular mixer but the chefs assured me they did a very thorough cleaning.

I know they do them at B&C as well but I won't EVER set food in there again after the experience we had. It's a good thing I recognized the little black dot's in DD14's shake as being the regular vanilla bean ice cream rather than tofutti or else she would have been throwing up our whole flight home (we went in a few hours before DME pickup). NEVER AGAIN!! They use the same mixers for allergies as for everybody else and I really wasn't paying attention to the cleaning process but I certainly don't trust them regardless.

Yes, I can't have dairy or it wouldn't be an issue. Why look for soy free if you can have milk?
