As someone who grew up 20 minutes from Comiskey Park on the south side of Chicago....someone who watched how close we came in 1983 and again in 1992....someone who became the biggest fan of Ozzie Guillen back in 1985 when he was the American League Rookie of the Year...

I'M SO EXCITED!!!! WE'VE FINALLY MADE IT TO THE WORLD SERIES IN MY LIFETIME!!!!!

Yeah, so true. That's why I still listen to WLS. Well, I put 26 years into Chicago (actual city limits to boot). I will always be at least in part a Chicagoan, although I am trying to embrace my new home town.

Great news - yes I totally missed it. I'm sure my mom is FREAKING out! I grew up on the South Side too but I'm not even in Illinios anymore!

Here's what it cool though, I'm going to visit my family on Saturday so I'll be in Chicago for the series.

Of course I live in TX and it looks like the Astro's are going to win. Better to be in Chicago because if I was in TX I'd be surrounded by Houston fan.

I just had to hop on to say, HURRAAYYYYY!!!! I am also a Southsider, born and raised, relocated to the South Suburbs. I remember going to games at Old Comiskey Park with my family using our Straight A Student/Perfect Attendance discount tickets! Ah, those were the days! We would get there early and stand near the field trying to get players' autographs. I had the biggest crush on Britt Burns and Richard Dotson!

Woo Hoo!! I was so excited last night and I had noone to share it with. My husband went to bed (Party pooper Phillies fan), my son was asleep, so there I was with the cat silently celebrating! There were fireworks in my neighborhood last night aslo.

I'm a little late to the CWS congratulatory party as I was in Orlando for the weekend I only watched a little bit of baseball. I'm pleased for the White Sox and especially for their fans.

Who was named MVP of the ALCS?

Congratulations! The Sox have been my American League team for some time now. A good buddy of mine grew up a white sox fan, so I root for them whenever i can. I went to two games this season at the Cell on the South side...it was fun....totally different atmosphere than a Cardinals game, but they play great baseball...I dig grinder ball.

I went to a game vs the angels this season (Sox lost, but was a crazy game) and they gave out Sox Pride Rally towels...if the Cardinals aren't playing you guys in the series, I'll be waving my rally towel for the Sox!
