Just looking for opinions on souvenirs for DS's kindergarten class. There are 25 kids so we're looking for something "economical" . We're not planning on DTD so we need something available in the parks.

How about lollipops, you pick the character. My ds dont like them though, they think they taste like cough medicine. Pencils? Don't know what your budget is per child.

You may want to as a Park or Resort CM for advice as well; that's a question they have to hear alot!
(not too many things "cheap" at WDW...good luck!!)

I can't remember the cost, but my daughter bought a package of 4 bookmarks, each one was of each of the parks. I thought the price was reasonable and you get 4 souvenirs per package. Somewhat appropriate, too, as these are going to classmates.

Last fall, we treated DD's Kindergarten class and DS's preschool class to a couple large bags each of Mickey pretzels. Both classes have a snack time each day and the teachers had the discretion of portioning the snacks for each child. I know a pretzel is more appreciated by teachers at our school than a candy treat and the kids got a kick out of the unique shape. A large bag is about $2.99 and is available at all resorts as well as parks.

We bought the mickey shaped lolli-pops for my son's kindergarten class last year. He was so proud to give them out and the kids really liked them. We also brought back a nice Mickey pen set for the teacher. It helped that his kindergarten teacher was also a Disney "nut". :earsboy:

We do wooden flutes from Kenya (it's a cart before Mexico) that way you don't have to worry about food allergies, Kosher or not, etc. Last time we were there they were $1- each

Many CM's have Disney stickers and they are FREE!! On a previous trip, I happened to ask a CM at a gift shop if I could have a few more stickers for DDs preschool class and she gave me about 30 of them. I suppose you'd have to find the right CM with a pile of stickers, but it's worth asking. On our last trip, we purchased pencils for DDs kindergarten class. I didn't want to have to deal with getting the food home and I thought the suckers were pretty spendy.

As a teacher here in Texas, we are no longer allowed to give out any candy and neither are the students. I haven't heard of any other states that are cracking down like we are, but you might check with the child's teacher. Last year I went during spring break and bought a book of postcards with pictures of the characters. Each page had a full postcard and a little business size card of the same picture. I teach 2nd grade and these were a huge hit! I also picked up some of the freebie stickers someone else mentioned.

I am a kindergarten teacher and I often buy a couple of packs of Mickey pencils to split up for my class when I get back.

I bought Mickey straws for my ds's class last fall. I got them in the food court at ASMU. They were .50 each and came in assorted colors. A cm also gave my ds TONS of Mickey stickers and we put some of them in the sealed envelope with the straw. DS's teacher passed the envelopes out at the end of class so nobody would fight over colors.

Thanks so much for all the great ideas! Are all these things available at any shop at the parks or only particular ones? Also do you just explain to the CM about the stickers being for classmates? I don't want anyone to think we're just being greedy.

I am a teacher's aide in Kindergarten. I definitly second the sticker idea. I ALWAYS have good luck just asking a CM for enough stickers for my class, and they are free.

Also, look around your town or on the web, that is what I do for Disney things.. much cheaper than getting them at Disney.
I ordered some cute Disney pencils on-line last year , unfortunatly can't remember the name of the company but they were MUCH cheaper than getting them at Disney World.

We bought different packs of pens for my son's kindergarten class. I think they were in packs of six or so and had different themes. We bought the Mickey and friends ones, the princess ones, and the villians ones. His teacher let him walk around the class and his classmates got to pick which pen they wanted. The kids loved them and my son thought it was the coolest.

How about free!!!! At EPCOT and Animal Kingdom go to the guest relations at the entrance and ask for the kids guide books. There is stuff to do in them at various park points, but there is also other interesting stuff in them. You could probably get 25 from each park. Tell them your a teacher and you want them for you class.

Cast members at WDW are given these stickers every couple of months by the company and should be willing to give these out. However, my info. is from one cast member, and may not be a universal distribution throughout the park, but I think it is.
