Ok, we’re planning our first visit to Universal, SeaWorld, etc. and in my usual obsessive way of gathering information I came to something that seems a bit confusing to me. Now I don’t know if I just “don’t get it”, if there are hidden clues somewhere or if I’m just reading far too much into this. :confused3

Here’s the deal: I’ve seen on Universal’s site that you can buy a “sipper cup” for $8.99 and get unlimited fountain drinks at participating meal deal restaurants for 1 day. Now, my issue here is this: I can only use this cup for one day? Seriously? Like I can’t bring it back with me the next day and get unlimited refills again without paying another $8.99? Say it ain’t so!

Also, just how big are these “sipper cups”? Do they have lids? How many ounces of liquid do they hold? There will be 2 adults and 5 children(ages 13, 12, 10, 9 and 5)should I even bother buying one for each of us? If we have to buy another one the next day (and maybe even the day after that if we go three times) then perhaps it’s not such a great deal.

Any suggestions? Answers? Anyone else not clear on this or is it just me?

And then I've seen on the menus on the allears site that some of the restaurants have souvenir cups. HOw do those work? Are they refillable anywhere?

Please help.

While you can buy the sipper cup and yes it is only good for one day but you can also buy at both universal parks a souviner cups that are good for in some cases lifetime refills which means you can bring them back with you to the parks everyday and even on future trips and they can be bought at any store or counter service just make sure you ask if its the lifetime one and the the one day :thumbsup2

ok, heres the scoop about the 8.99 cups. This is what Universal orlando site says: This ticket entitles you to one (1) day of unlimited soft drink fountain beverages at all participating Meal Deal locations at either Universal Studios Florida OR Universal's Islands of Adventure.

To purchase the 1-Day Meal Deal Sipper Cup ticket online you must also purchase a 1-Day Meal Deal ticket in the same online transaction.

so, to get the cup you also have to get a meal deal. So you ask how do they know you bought the cup that day or not. you will have ticket for the cup and a ticket for the meal deal. you redeem it at the first restuarnt that u want to eat at and they give you a wrist band that u have to wear all day. and this will give you free refills all day too. . But once you have used the cup the first day. You can bring it back the next day and get refills for less than a $1.00( or that was what the refills cost last year when we went.)

Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

You don't have to buy the meal deal or sipper cup deal cause they also sell the souviner cups that are refillable too and they range from $8.99 to I think $9.99 and when I was there in july lastyear the refills were 69 cents

Great info to know on my upcoming trip. Saves us some $$.

Thanks for the info on the cups. I don't think we'll be getting the meal deal cups. Seems like a waste for just one day.

BTW, does anyone know how big the other refillable cups are?

Heres a pic of DW and DD with their cups, they where $6.99+tax and 69cent refills

i suggest when you buy the mug, buy one that has a handle.
easier to hang on to or you can loop it to a belt or water bottle sling.

I bought the refillable cup this past weekend and it was great. The refills came to .85 including tax. I refilled maybe 3 times and it holds a lot of liquid. I never drank an entire one. I usually had to dump some of the "flat" soda before I got a new refill.

Thanks for the info. I have also been told that if you have a AAA card you can get a 10% discount off of the cup and the refills. Another money saving tip.

there are no discounts to the promos for meal deal and sippy cups.

they are already discounted.
