Hello Fellow Disney Nerds!:

Just wondering about the habits of other people. What are your Auto Musts with regard to souvenirs for your trip? Your Automatic Purchases sight unseen that you know you always pick up when you go to WDW.

I am one of those people who likes to watch the Disney Haul Videos on You Tube to see what people purchased and how much it costs. It was via those videos that I found out about the Disney Outlet Store (you can catch a bus from DTD that will take you there. There are two of them). I am not sure if I am going or not - but at least I have notes on how to get there. It's my understanding that the prices are considerably less than at the parks.

Anyway my Auto Musts for for Disney (or other vacation spots) are:

Resort Baseball Cap (Presuming they have one) I'm at POP for this first time.
Disney Parks 2015 Baseball Cap
Disney Parks 2015 Tee
Resort Coffee Mug
Resort Water Bottle
Resort Tee
Resort and Park Trinkets like Magnets, Key Chains, Disney (Post-it type)Note Pads
New Mini Ears
Disney Dollars
Post Cards (just as a souvenir - not to use)
Pressed Pennies

Other plans for:
A Tote bag.
A music box (if I find one that really moves me)
A nice picture frame
Pearl from Japan / Epcot to make into a solitaire ring.
Something for the kitchen.
ChopSticks from Japan / Epcot.

From there I will be careful as I see items that really grab me. If there are stocks and stocks of them I will wait it out until the end of the day and call another location to make sure they have it. Meaning - if I see it at WORLD OF DISNEY... I will call EMPORIUM to see if they have it. I know that items can suddenly be gone and that the rule is to pick it up when you see it. So if I know my wallet is really awesome... I'm going to grab it and have it delivered to my room. The reason for not always buying TOO quickly is to make sure I shop around at other stores because in my travels there may be something else that may be far more appealing to me. I'd rather at least wait until the end of the day, and / or if it isn't that pricey I will just purchase it when I see it.

Just wondering what the Auto purchases are for others! Please Share! (*_*)

We aren't huge souvenir buyers. I have a son that collects mugs so he always gets a mug, my two youngest always get a hat or stuffed animal, and my other two usually get a shirt or something. I have no musts. I buy t-shirts for the trip before I get there, either on clearance at Disney or at Wal-mart when I stop in for snacks. I will usually buy something though and it changes each trip. Last trip I bought a hoodie.

WTH is an AUTO MUST?

When I read the thread title I thought you wanted info on automobile related souvenirs. Cars? Test Track? Sounds like something my BIL would be looking for, if I could drag him away from Daytona. ;)

lol. You know what MinnieMum.. you are right! I changed the title! :cool2:

Does going to that Walmart close to the park count? They always have a ton of Disney things. It is my first stop when we get in town.

I'd say it counts. I just saw a vid on that Walmart last week. I've heard it's "enormouse." Only reason why I personally think it counts is if it's done on a Disney trip. Because I used to think the outlet store didn't count. But if you do it while on your WDW vacation.. why the heck not!? ;)

We ALWAYS need to get those little car antenna toppers. They are SO handy when trying to find your car in a parking lot.

I see them all the time on You Tube Haul vids. Too cute. I don't have a car. But I'm not above just picking on up anyway! (*_*)

The past three trips I have bought a pair of earrings from the Mexico Pavillion. They are silver and turquoise. I just love them. Also I always buy a small crockery dish from the Japanese store. We have used them as cat dishes for our little dears and the latest one is used for earrings in the bathroom. I didn't get a resort mug for two years and regretted it, they are nice to use during that 2 hour, 4 feet of snow and ice winter commute.

Year numbered zipper hoodies. Dated Christmas ornaments and a shirt from the Harley shop at dtd. Those are must do items. We can sometimes get carried away and end having things shipped back to colorado as the plane couldn't take off with our stuff..lol.

Love it!
I am packing my larger suitcase - which is far more than what I will need for this SOLO vacation. But just in case I make some bigger purchase they should be good to go into the suitcase. There is a chance that I may purchase a character pillow pet! I don't want to stuff my smaller suitcase with no room for my unexpected purchases.

I am a sucker for vintage style t-shirts, especially ones that look a bit unique and not mass-produced. Yes I know they're all mass produced at Disney, but if it isn't over-the-top Disney and has a little character (no pun intended), I'll want it.

Mine are:

- The larger year dated coffee mug (the ones that hold 2 cups) that is specifically walt disney world and not the disney parks one. (harder to find but does exist)
- I try to find a shift that isn't too disney and in my size. Generally I'm unsuccessful.

My Daughter:
- Fancy Popcorn Container.
- some type of shirt
- a dated pin and a hard to find pin(s) if they are in stock (thanks shop disney app).
