Southwest Travel Funds

Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times. I have travel funds that I am giving to someone but I'm wondering how it works. My name is still next to the funds but I saw that others can use them until January 28th. Is that correct? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks a ton!

Have you completed your travel yet? If not, just keep in mind that with the information you will have to give them (in order for them to utilize the credits) will give them access to your entire reservation. I am only saying this because if you don't know them, they could cancel your reservation and use all of the funds to book a different itinerary. If it's someone you know and trust, you should be fine. I tend to be a skeptic and don't give anyone access to that info other than maybe my sister.
It is very nice that you are helping someone out by giving them your credits though!

I'm looking at doing this but the other way around. My daughter has credits that she doesn't intend to use before they would expire. I have offered to buy them from her, if I can use them.

Is the Jan 28 just the book by date? Could I book by Jan 28 to use in June?

yes Jan 28 is the book by date.....i just used some travel funds in my son's name to book my hubby a ticket in may

great. and there's not a travel by date? except of course that it has to be already available from sw? That's great news! Now to call her back because I think her roommate has the same credits....
