Southwest Summer Fares

I've been waiting to see if Southwest fares for July will go down since being released. So far nada. I don't know when or if they will have a sale on summer fares. Does anybody know when in the past Southwest has released summer fares? Right now Delta has a flight for $66 less per person than Southwest's lowest priced flight. Trying to decide if I should grab the Delta flight or not. I really would prefer Southwest.

I've been pretty disappointed with SWA fares for my May trip. So far I have not booked. It's hard to book someone else when you get used to SWA, especially with the free bags and knowing you can rebook for a lower price. Good luck with your decision.

I'm also waiting. I can book either Jetblue or SW...they have the times and flights I want. But, still a bit expensive. Will they come down for the summer? No way of knowing. I'm giving it a few more weeks and then I'll commit.

Just keep in mind that Delta has raised the checked bag fee to $23 for the 1st and $35 for the second. If you plan to check 2 bags you can $116 to the cost of the flight.

Trust me that is very much on my mind. SW is still a lot more when considering it's for four people. I already did my flight to MCO on Airtrain because the timing/price was just right and I didn't like any of SW's flights on the way there. Coming home is not such a big deal. I expect Airtran's baggage will be just as much as Delta's by the time July rolls around. Please SW lower those fares.

for the last week in July '09, i picked up seats mid-week on SW (a few weeks ahead of time) in the $70 range one way, $20 less to TPA from PIT. The weekends were about $30 more as i recall...good luck
