Anyone else watching Southwest prices for the summer/fall months. We're booked to be at Disney August 16-28th and have to fly Southwest as we have a $600 credit that expires in Novmeber.

I've been watching the prices really closely since they came out at the end of March and am not at all liking what I'm seeing. Last year we paid $64 per person each way this year the cheapest I've seen is $89 each way...sadly those only apply to Tuesday and Wednesday departures thus far.

Today just about every flight from BUF to MCO is $114 :confused3

If you're watching post here...if you have any predictions on what is going to happen with the summer/fall flight prices post here...I'm really beginning to wonder if we're going to be able to keep our booked dates with Disney which is really disappointing because we got all the ADR's we wanted!

yep, I have been watching. I am used to 59 to 69 each way.. The prices tend to go up closer to the day so I am not sure about what to do.

Well, aircanada and wesjet have sales right now. I got returns to orlando out of toronto for 300 each. Its more then I budgeted for,, but at 114 and 154 out of buf its not all that much more then what I would have been paying out of buf.

Looking forward to the 2 extra days in orlando.

I'm watching...we're going in December and I too am used to paying $69 or so. I've been lucky and booked on the day the schedule opens up and have been able to get the low price. Time will tell whether or not this will continue to work for me.

We booked SW the day they opened fall flights & I wasn't too amused either with the prices, but when I looked at AT compared to SW, SW ended up to be $12 more pp becuase of baggage fees with AT. I think we booked for $115 pp for September with SW. I too am used to $59 flights & double this year almost makes it worth driving with 5 of us.

Looking too. We are going early July and still have not booked as we too are used to the $59 bucks tickets. Looked at the AC and WJ sales but timings etc don't seem to appeal to me, LOL, and the prices are almost the same anyway.

If my memory servers me right (and it has been known to fail as the years go by:lmao:), I think there was a sale last year on SWA last year for July 4th weekend, so I'm hoping there will be one this year too.:wizard:

Last year we were at WDW from Aug 28th thru Sept 7 and I booked the flights in June. We paid $62. At that time both SW and AT were the same price.

I looked at flights from Seattle - AirTran and Southwest had higher flights than a direct flight with Delta. I even added in the price of a bag each.

looking here to for our thanksgiving weekend trip, the price is much higher this year for sure, where are those $59 fares????

I have been watching flights for next March Break. So far the only airline with dates that far is Delta. Let me tell you--prices MUCH higher than usual. Hope and pray that it changes or we will have to drive:scared1: They are 600 each!! This year I paid $1100 total for family of 4. I cannot justify $2400.
Do you think prices are higher in light of all the $$ airlines are losing due to the Europe flight cancellations??? If so, in time it should settle.

I don't think the volcano has anything to do with it because prices were high before all that happened. Not sure what the reason is, but next time we go anywhere, if the prices are like this, we drive. If you break down the cost of gas & a hotel room each way between 4 adults, it's much cheaper than flying, just a little longer to get there, but I actually don't mind the drive.

I've been watching Southwest and Airtran. No great deals yet. We're going back and forth between going to Disney, or taking a cruise out of Miami. A family trip for my 40th birthday.

we are booked for our dvc member cruise so i booked our flight for sept 11 for $109 each way on jet blue. Direct flights. That was a couple weeks ago. Same flight after i booked went to $144 . Before i booked those same seats were $69. Same with southwest. But we prefer jet blue. More leg room tv at each seat dunkin donuts coffee and the arrival and departure times were better. Plus we can check out at disney for jet blue, you cant with southwest. Im not saying we never fly southwest we have but our first choice is jet blue. If we have to have a connecter flight jet blue has its own brand new terminal in nyc.

You actually can now use airline check in at Disney with SW, it just started within the last few weeks I think.

I booked our Oct 17-30 dates THE DAY the fall prices were released.

At 12noon, it was $69 BUF MCO and $89 FLL BUF (we'll drive between to hit our cruise). By the time I looked at 9am the next morning it was $124 there and $134 (or something like that) return. went from $189 tax in to $287 tax in in less than 24 hours for 7 months away!!

We managed to book a Thanksgiving long weekend get away (Saturday to Wednesday) Rochester to Orlando non stop for $72 each way.... same flights are now over $200 each way. 45 minutes or so farther to drive then Buffalo but the drive will be worth it!!

I booked on March 30th and got $74 for Buf-MCO and $104 for MCO-Buf for a grand total of $203.10 (including taxes) :)

Since booking, prices each way have gone up and seem to be around $114 per segment.

I was hoping they would go down so that I could have a credit for next year and also do the seat selection option.

Will keep watching, just in case :goodvibes

when did you get that price???????

If you mean me we booked it on March 31st and the prices were still low a week later - it's with Air Tran but still a good price - we will only have 1 checked bag for the 4 of us as we are only going for 5 days! Total for 4 of us including choosing our seats for both ways came to $691. It was a great week - we got flights and a Savannah view studio at AKLV all at the same time!!

If you don't have to do Southwest try www.kayak.com and make sure to check the box below the airport to give you departures/arrivals into Rochester and Tampa as well as BUF and MCO. We always rent a car so doesn't matter to us if we go into Tampa or Orlando.

Has anyone booked with airtran? Sometimes they have good prices.
Lets face it, still cheaper flying out of Buffalo rather than Toronto.:)

The flight we just booked for October was with Air tran - except we found much better prices out of Rochester (45 mins farther then Buffalo) $72 each way.
