Southwest Summer/Fall Flight Prices...Who Else is Watching?

Has anyone booked with airtran? Sometimes they have good prices.
Lets face it, still cheaper flying out of Buffalo rather than Toronto.:)

Yep....used AT a few times without any problems. I generally book with which ever carrier has the best price....be it SW, AT or Jetblue. Sometimes I have booked a slightly higher fare to get a better flight time. Last summer we used AT and the price was the same as SW the difference being we could get an earlier non stop with AT. Also, with AT you do have to pay to check a bag but in my case I knew that we would only check one bag for the family so we would only have to pay an extra $30. I think that's a small increase to get a better flight time. In the end I got coupons from AT so I only paid $15 RT for the bag.

I booked on March 30th and got $74 for Buf-MCO and $104 for MCO-Buf for a grand total of $203.10 (including taxes) :)

Since booking, prices each way have gone up and seem to be around $114 per segment.

I was hoping they would go down so that I could have a credit for next year and also do the seat selection option.

Will keep watching, just in case :goodvibes

but.....but I checked like 5 times a day since they relased the Ocotober flights (I think on March 23 or something, I marked it down on my calendar), I don't remember I ever see that price!!!! :guilty:

Possibly because it was out of Rochester and not Buffalo?? I don't mind the extra drive to Rochester so when I do my searches I always include it and Tampa since we always rent a car. What dates are you going? my flights were from Oct 9 to 13 - I just looked on AirTran's site and Oct 9 still has some late day flights with 1 stop ROC to MCO for $76 - the return on the Tues, Wed, Thurs and Fri still have $76 flights too.

I usually search for Oct 8-12, but you are right, I just search far from Buffalo/niagara airport.

We could have flown cheaper with AT on the way down but their arrival time for non-stop sucked so we payed a little extra to get a decent arrival time with SW. We also won't do a connection because my dad hates flying & refuses to take off & land more than once during a flight :) We probably could have done cheaper with another airline if it wasn't for our restrictions. We are flying home with AT though because they were much cheaper than any other company, even with the baggage fee. Still though, I didn't see any $59 or $69 flights. Cheapest I saw was $72 with AT. We are actually paying $89 for our flight home with AT & I thought that was expensive.
