We are debating doing the SWS trip in late May. Does ABD deal with all airlines, or only certain ones? I am finding decent priced flights on Continental, but not sure if they book them.

Anyone else on the May 28th SWS?

ABD doesn't have special fares set up with the airlines. ABD basically acts as a TA for you to book them. They will, if you want, book exactly the flight you want, at the time you want, and the price you see (assuming it's still available). So any airline is fine.

It's a FABULOUS trip! If you haven't already, check out my Trip Report in my signature. I took the trip in May, and I loved it!

Feel free to ask any questions if you want! We have lots of folks on this board who have taken this trip.

Echoing Sayhello's response: SWS is a great trip!

ABD does not get any better pricing on airfare than you could find yourself. BUT, there is a benefit in that they're on the hook if travel plans go awry. For example, if flights are delayed because of bad weather, your ABD trip is cancelled for poor bookings - ABD will help 'make it better'. You won't be on the financial hook for worthless plane tickets.

We don't always have ABD arrange our airfare, but we did for SWS mainly because the travel logisitics were so tight for us arriving in Phoenix and meeting up with the tour. Rather than chancing flight delays, etc. - we booked flights via ABD for that extra peace of mind.

Thanks. Yes, I did read almost all the trip reports posted. I did a search of the ABD board on SOUTHWEST and 13 pages came up. Think I went through all of them :rotfl:

I will probably come in a day early as advised to get acclimated.

My other question is: what did you wear for shoes on the rafting?

We used 'water shoes'. They are like really lightweight hiking shoes (not boots) made for getting wet - likely involves mesh uppers, etc. Other folks used sneakers or those neoprene slippers some people wear for swimming at the beach.
