southwest rewards ?

This is the first time I will be buying tickets using our rewards and I have a question. I need to buy 7 tickets and didn't know if I need to buy each one individually or can I just buy 7 total? Also is there any difference in buying round trip vs. one way. My reason for asking is our trip is from 9/19-9/29, southwest reservation is only open until 9/28. So don't know if I should buy the 9/19 part now and then buy the other part in February.

You can buy all 7 at one time, and you should buy the "down" flight as soon as you get a fare you can live with. Then, when the schedule is released from Sept 29 on, you can get the return flights. That's one of the great things about SW, the ability to purchase individual flight segments.

If you wait until the schedule is released for Sept. 29, you might not get a good flight time down, or all flights might be close to full. SW wants full flights, and they adjust their schedules to pack planes. Don't wait!

You can buy them all together. You will probably get 7 different confirmation numbers though. I did when I booked my family of 5 with my reward points.

I always book one ways through SW so that if the fare for one leg goes down I can rebook it at the lower fare and get the credit (or refund in points). Can't do that if both legs don't go down.

If I were you and you are happy with the 1st leg prices right now, book it!
