It looks like Southwest and Disney are expanding their airline check-in abilities. Pop Century used to be the only resort where you could check-in for your flight when using Southwest. Now the list of resorts has expanded to:
The 3 All Star Resorts
Yacht Club
Beach Club

I can't wait until all the resorts are included.

I'm confused about this.

Do you mean the official "Resort airline check in" where you give them your luggage and you do not see it again until you are at your home airport?

I heard they may do this, but every time I visit WDW, it is not in place yet for Southwest.

I've been able to 'check in' at Guest Relations both in the resorts and at Disney theme parks for Southwest airlines for years. They print out your boarding passes within the 24 hour window.

Yes...This is the "Resort airline check in" where you don't see your luggage until you get to your home airport.

Cool

Hope to stay in the Yacht Club in the fall.

Love SWA

I just checked out of Beach Club Villas yesterday and was asked if I was doing the resort check-in. I told them no since I was using Southwest. The lady in bell services said it wouldn't be much longer before I could check into Southwest flights through Disney. I didn't say anything sooner because I wasn't sure that I heard her right.

I don't understand why they can't just add all the resorts at once........it's not like this is a totally new concept that they need to test!

Can I just keep my fingers crossed that this would be available for my trip in May..........probably not, but I can hope!

I once read somewhere a couple years ago that Southwest accounts for 20% of all airline travelers heading to WDW at MCO, and that there was some concern (although I don't know if it was on the part of Southwest or Bags, Inc. who runs the remote check-in desks) about the sheer volume of bags that would have to be handled.

Sounds great to me. I hope to take advantage of this in May whilst staying at the Beach Club.:banana:

I sure hope they do extend it to the other resorts...funny that they have now included the All Stars, and this is the first time that we are NOT staying there.....

I called Beach Club bell services this morning and they said the SW resort check in will start next week. Since I have 6 weeks until I leave WDW I booked BC for my last night instead of POP. This way I can just move from BCV to BC. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!. It is so worth the extra money not to stay at POP.

That's great Kim. Have a wonderful trip.

Keeping my fingers crossed about BLT:worship: We are staying there our last night and OH it would be so wonderful not to worry about carrying our bags at the airport.
