Even though you cannot use Southwest Rapid Rewards Points to purchase Disney World Tickets, they can be used to get passes for both seaworld and universal studios orlando. You can also use the points for rental cars, restaurants etc.

Currently you get 50,000 points for signing up ($79 yearly fee)

Say you and your spouse both sign up for the card, that's 100,000 points.

Here's an example of how we are using our points for a disney vacation:

Two round-trip flights from long island to Orlando total of about 25,000 points

Two tickets to Universal Studios + Islands of Adventure- 24,000 points

Two Tickets to Seaworld- 17,038 points

8 Day Rental Car (Nissan Versa or similar) from Hertz- 17,000 points

That's 83,038 points used. Leaves enough points to get $150 in amazon gift cards or gift cards to restaurants

If you want to use the points for a hotel, you can get $1,000 of gift certificates to Marriott, Ritz Carlton, or Hyatt Hotels. Or you can book basically any hotel using points (even disney hotels, although it's almost 50,000 points for one night at a deluxe).

SO- For two people signing up for the card, you get 50,000 points each for a total sign-up cost of $158. To get the points you just have to make a purchase (even if it's just $1).

My wife and I are enjoying FREE flights, FREE rental car, FREE Universal, and FREE Seaworld. My grandmother is gifting us 7 nights at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Our only costs thanks to southwest and grandma will be disney tickets and food =).

I signed up for the Chase RR card a week or so ago. Received in the mail today. The card was automatically attached to my existing RR account, which is what I was hoping for. I have a ton of RR points due to flying Southwest often (usually two to three round trips every month), so I was able to use my existing RR points to book a week at Bonnet Creek for free.

Isn't the annual fee $99 for the card that gets you 50,000 points?

So whereo I get the card from? Or the promo to get the card? I think this sounds like a great deal!! I am not all about paying for a CC but with those benifits I have no problem paying for it for one year

Nice job of putting together a very cheap trip!

I didn't realize that Disney resorts were included among the hotels that you could use your points on. Doing a quick search for a night in early December for my dates shows that a standard room at ASMo goes for 10,044 points. That means that a family could get two of the credit cards, pay $198 for annual fees, and get 10 nights at Disney if they just make a few purchase with the card to grab the additional 440 points needed.

Have a great time!

How do you get points? Is it for every purchase or just SW airline ticket purchases?

You can get points on all purchases, but you get a minimum of 6X points from booking southwest flights.

I am wondering if you can upgrade a one day Universal ticket. I would love a 2 day ticket. The cost difference is $16 per ticket which I would pay cash.

Thank you so much to the original poster. It took a long time to navigate to the page you described and I never would have found it if I had not known to look for it.:goodvibes

Thank you soooo much for the post!!!! My husband and I j:thumbsup2ust applied and are now getting 4 universal ticks. That saes us over 300 dollars. Every little bit helps!

To the OP (or anyone else with experience), how long did it take for your Universal tickets to arrive after you placed the order?

We are considering a day at Universal the last week in June, but we might want to wait until the beginning of June to decide.

Do the tickets have to be mailed or can you pick them up at will-call?

The tickets are mailed to you, and it takes probably a maximum of 10 days. Will call isn't an option.
