I know at the end of March it will cost more RR points to book flights on SW. We want to take a trip to the world next December. Does anyone remember when they opened Xmas dates this past year? I'm thinking I'm going to have to use more points, and I don't have that many to use!

This year - May 6, covered November 2 to January 5.

I know that my dates for early December (7th-12th) opened while I was in Disneyworld on May 7th, I think the dates up to January opened at that point.

I have bought points from SWA for a shortfall. They aren't unreasonable. I believe I paid $68 for either 2000 or 2500, can't remember exactly.
