When the next batch of southwest dates become available on March 3rd, what time can people start buying?
TIA

I believe it is 6 or 7 am. I can't be sure of which time it usually is. By chance do you know how far out they are opening dates?

Oh shoot....I am looking for second week of November to open up. How do you find out dates that Southwest will open up flights?

I asked here and someone posted the link to the page on southwest - they do have the dates there somewhere - but probably won't list the new ones until the March 3 dates load in

There's a link near the bottom right of the page called Travel Tools:

We are currently accepting air reservations through August 8, 2014. On March 3, 2014, we will open our schedule for sale through October 31, 2014. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

In the past I've booked at 6:00AM EST and will hopefully be doing so on 3/3.

This has been typical--with one or two exceptions--over the past few years.

No way to tell exactly when November will open for booking but check this link for a list of historical release dates. If I had to guess, I would think that May would be most likely but it could slip into early June.

On 1/27 when they opened up until 8/8 I checked at 5:45AM eastern time and they were already up.

Is there any advantage in waiting to get round trip fares as opposed to one ways? We are flying in on Oct 25 and out on Nov 8, so only the October dates will be available with the next release.

SW fares are usually the same one way or RT so if the 10/25 flight is low I'd book it.

why do so many ppl want to book opening day are the tickets cheaper? first time looking into southwest for us

Often they are cheaper... however, I did have a situation where the ticket price dropped slightly a week after the tickets where release. In that case, I simply rebooked.

Sometimes it's cheaper, but sometimes people want to book early for other reasons. For instance, my airport has only one direct flight to and from Orlando each day, all the others involve connections, so if I want a direct flight I have to book early.

Ditto. We have 2 non-stop flts to MCO, but I'm looking to book the first one in the AM instead of the one in the evening. Want to spend as much time as possible at WDW!

I experienced the same when I booked my flight there was only one nonstop to Orlando. That's the one I took of course it's 6am lol! This is the first time I've ever used SW and it's the first time I've flown since I was 6. I've heard real good things about them and they are the cheapest of all the airlines. I checked all of them no price compared to SW.

In my experience, I always book my Southwest flights as soon as they come out as I have seen as much as a $90 increase in the first hour

I'm hoping to book October's flights tomorrow morning. Does SW's schedule change very much when a new booking window opens, or can I anticipate that October's schedule will look very similar to July/August's?

Re-book if prices drop? How does that work?

If you book on points you get the difference credited to your account. If booking with $$$ you get the difference as a credit to use toward a future flight to be used within the next year. (assuming you book a "wanna get away" fare) One of the many reasons why I LUV Southwest!!!
