Can anyone confirm if SW discontinued nonstops between Indy & MCO?? I haven't found anything on their website but anything I've tried so far for Sept 2013 only has transfers.

I had a hard time finding non-stop flights with SW as well. It showed that they "had" them but were no longer available for my flight days. I ended up booking US Air for our trip to Orlando and AirTran for our return flight b/c the flight times suited our needs and the prices were cheapest with the flights we chose. SW "used" to be the way to fly, best prices and lots of times to choose from. Seems that's not so anymore. Even with the luggage fees. You just need to shop around even if it means a different airline each way. Also wanted to add, the longer I was holding out for SW to open more non-stops the more the prices were going up on the other airlines. And even as of now SW still has no non-stops available for our April trip...

Looks like they are on AirTran (which they own). I checked September 9-15, there are 3 nonstops in each direction.

AirTran might not be bad, friends had to book last minute flights yesterday to come home for a family funeral, Tampa-Pittsburgh. AirTran was only $233, Southwest was almost $600.

Seems that they have moved most of their nonstop IND-MCO flights over to AirTran. I think they only have one day or two days each week where they have direct flights. I ran into the same issue for my April flights and am booked on AirTran instead.

They actually did this to some degree in 2012 as well with either no or very few nonstops in the late summer/early fall. The number then increased from Oct-Dec. I was hoping they would increase the number of nonstops as Airtran was phased out. No sign of that yet in Indy, though, it appears.

Thanks all for the input. Our trip isn't until October, but was hoping to get an idea of flight times/days from September schedule. Guess I'm glad I found out now, knowing I need to look at other options too. AirTran flights for October won't be out until March, same as SW. Ugh... More waiting.... I'm just so ready to get another part of the trip planned and paid for!
