Does anyone have any recent experiences with boarding order from Nashville (BNA) to Orlando (MCO) especially with either arrival times before takeoff or online checkins and getting A passes?
Just did this on Thursday! The one flight out of BNA that arrives at MCO at about 5:30 originates in Detroit. It then goes on to Chicago Midway and picks up more passengers. Keep that in mind when you are boardiing.....even if you get an "A" card at BNA, the plane may be already half full of passengers like it was last week.
There are very few flights that originate in Nashville. Nashville is kind of a hub for SW.
That said, security is usually not too bad. I flew this morning out of Nashville and was thru security in no time. There was no line and the longest part was me unloading the laptop. I generally get there about 90 minutes in advance for SW and 90% of the time I get an "A" pass.
The October time frame is the same time I have a discount. I think I paid $90. But.... I figure that may not happen anytime soon. Everytime I fly to Orlando those flights are pretty full so I guess they don't need to discount.
Glad to see some local folks here! I've been eyeing their schedules, Louisville is close for me and the airport there is usually not as crowded, but I like Nashville's flight times better. I will be boarding with a baby so will I still get to board early even if I don't get an "A" boarding pass?
Thanks for posting this!! I've been wondering the same thing myself. We are going in late May. Saturday morning flight leaves around 9:15 a.m. I checked SWA website and could not find a flight originating anywhere else through Nashville to Orlando. I hope this is a good sign that there will not already be passengers on the plane.
I too have wondered how the new online boarding passes will work. We live about 3 hours away and will stay the night in a hotel in Nashville the night before...no way to get online and get our passes!
As for the airfare, we are soooo happy!! $118 RT!
Sorry I couldn't be anymore helpful with boarding info...this is our first time SWA and flying on any airline out of Nashville (we usually use Memphis).
dizneyfan,
I would love to get that rate! How did you get it? Was it recently, or during one of their specials? At $200, we won't fly, but at $118, we definitely would(saves quite a bit over 3 tickets!).
It was an internet special rate. I booked it the first day it was available. I think our dates opened around mid January for flight out May 22. I had been looking at the site waiting and waiting for the new schedule to publish...you can imagine my excitement when I saw the dates open up AND that incredible rate!
I believe they were having systemwide internet specials at that time...it just so happened that from BNA to MCO it was $59 one way.
Good luck to you...I hope you find that great fare!
