Thanks so much for this note. Update! I called today to ask what the heck was up with the second letter and to see if we could speed this process up a little. The team on their end honestly was pretty flummoxed about why my application was being held up, I've had a BoA card for over 20 years, and they have everything they need on me. I was transferred to all kinds of different departments for about an hour. What finally worked was logging into my profile online, then applying AGAIN from there (I wasn't logged in the first time). The second application was also paused, but it was a temporary pause that required some phone information/verification only - after 10 min, I was approved, and the initial application that was in limbo has been cancelled. I can see the number in my BoA app, so it looks like this one took.I haven't but BoA (and frankly any bank but historically, Barclays, BoA and I'm sure others will chime in) some other banks can be difficult. Likely having your credit reports locked contributed to this-I keep mine frozen and unfreeze for 24 hours when applying (I realize this is Monday morning quarterbacking so apologies!) but do empathize with the frustration. Right now, banks seem to be more skittish than ever...harkening back to "08 and even other times in our history when they were more reluctant to extend credit.
Good luck and remember, it's not you, it's them.
Weird. And as irritating as this has been, I guess at least I know no one will be getting a BoA card fraudulently in my name
