Southwest just released a special to ORLANDO!!!

I got their email this morning and checked it out. Their fares from Chicago are relatively high, and certainly higher than they and the other airlines have been running for the same time period (by about $50 or so roundtrip). Hope the fares are better for other people flying from other cities. :)

I hope others have better luck... the special from BWI (Baltimore) is quite good... however, they do not have my date available yet!!!:jester:

Thanx bunches!!
Currently holding 12 BWI tickets that should apply at least one way! However, return date is blacked out. Waiting for 7am in TX for grp sales to open!

Rates from my city are also higher than Southwest's normal best internet deals.

I said it was a sale... because the prices were better for my area... but... I guess I should have said FEATURED DESTINATION... as that is the way they advertise it! :earseek:

I sure hope someone here gets good discounted rate!!!:Pinkbounc

BUMMER :(

I called SW and rep is not allowed to give our grp. 'internet' sale special on our current tickets even tho dates apply. I could rebook them on internet and cancel these, however it would be a gamble I am not comfortable with as internet special are non refundable and I can only book 6 at a time. Any suggestions ??

Even if you only get six tickets at the discounted rate (for the same flight) wouldn't that be better than none.

That is of course if the flight you are currently booked on is available.
:sunny:

It looks like you can buy 8 at one time... would it save you enough to justify possibly flying separately???

That's a pretty good rate from Spokane (where we usually fly from) but we're not going till March:(

Has anyone from the Baltimore region tried Airtran? I just book last week for our Sept. cruise and go a great fair. $100.00 per person round trip non-stop to Orlando.

I personally have not heard of them... tell me more... I will be flying out of BWI for Feb. 1st Cruise.

I checked a with a few people and they said that this is a decent airline. My husband did not want to switch planes on the way and Airtran was the only airline that flew non-stop from BWI to Orlando.

You can check the web site for more information. www.airtran.com. I just kept checking and checking till the prices came down and when I didn't think they would be any lower I went ahead and booked.

Thanks for the info... SouthWest also has some non-stops and that's why we chose them!

These boards are such a wonderful source of information!!!:Pinkbounc

I always use Southwest, especially when I travel alone. I got my ticket for my October trip last week. To get a late night flight back, I had to pay $176.50 roundtrip. I went and priced it again and the price had gone up to $196.50. So I guess I have the best deal right now for the times that I want to travel.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Vicki:)

I just checked Air Tran rates for our trip... but they were more expensive as of right now... I am certain SouthWest will come out with some kind of discounted fare when they finally extend their schedule!!!

For some reason when I first started checking for airfare to Orlando I could only find nonstop on Airtran. Now I see SouthWest have nonstop to Orlando. Oh well! The price for Airtran is a little better. I will let you know in September how well they operate. I'm crossing my fingers!

I am using Airtran for my October flight to Orlando. Their rates and schedules were the best!

I had booked my air last week and I thought I got a pretty good deal paying $504 for two round trip and then I saw this post and checked to see if the rates were cheaper and they were. So I cancelled my air that I puchased last week and rebooked and saved $188.00...........Thanks!

Thank you so much for posting this. I just got off the phone with SWA and now have a $112 credit towards future travel, which I will use for my next trip to WDW in January. Thank you again. Anita.
