Couldn't believe that when I checked this morning they were already open.
I did pretty well with flights around February school vacation week, flying from Providence to Orlando, using Southwest rapid rewards. I got all 5 of us going down late Thursday afternoon, 2/17 and just one so far coming home on Monday 2/28. I should be getting another free ticket when my statement closes tomorrow so I will do the rest tomorrow. Good luck!

my kids are both in college starting this year, so I don't need those almost impossible feb and april breaks this year, too bad, I could've had $99 each way with only one day out of school for feb. That would've been amazing!

I did book Jan for $99, which I'm happy about, had enough travel funds to pay for one ticket, and had to pay for the other one. Not bad. ;)

Just checked Southwest. Are most of the non-stops really sold out or does Southwest historically hold back on posting some flights. I know it's a popular week, but in 10 minutes they sold out of those flights - really???

Ugh... as usual, for some stupid reason, SW is as much if not more than everyone else out of HOU. I really love flying them, but I have never seen their mythical low fares!! :(

I noticed that as well for MHT to MCO 2/17-2/26/11. I was on at 5:45am and they hadn't opened yet; then at 6;45 I looked again and they were open but the non-stops were sold out on the return.:confused3

At about 7:15 AM I got 4 nonstop MCO/MHT for Friday the 25th at 7PM--some of those are still available. Good luck!

Sold out, or sold out at the least expensive price? It's possible they don't feel the need to offer discounted fares on the nonstops.

They only fly connections to MCO from DTW, so I usually don't book with them. DW is taking the kids during their President's Week break this year, and this morning they had flights at $207 all-in round trip for P-Week, including ECBI both ways.

Unfortunately, I have the week *after* P-week off, so I'm going down solo after they get back. Oddly, the fares for that week are much higher.

wow i thought it was just me, but the week of presidents is double what i thought with wanna get away all sold out? Wondering if they come down or should i wait to book?

wow, so i go and figure i will get the one way tickets, and wait to see if they open any more seats for the other way, and selcte my seats then once i put in my credit card payment, tells me seats are gone ????

so now i have no flights for presidents week and ALL wanna get away are showing sold out?? Anyone guess if they are holding back seats, as our return cost PP os $642 prior to taxes

They became available earlier than I expected! I booked two award trips and two paid (LUV voucher) trips. Added EBCI to all!

Good luck everyone!

I'm so lucky we don't have to travel during school vacations yet since DD is only 1. We are going in early February and the rates are $99/each way per person. The lowest I have seen is $79 so I may book since it's reasonable.

When will it open through May. I do prefer Jetblue but the prices are crazy high for the time I wish to go

I was suprised to see that they were open already...anyone know what the 'magical time' of release actually was? Trying to figure out if prices may have been lower when they first came out. I don't need tickets til later in March, so I'll be watching the next release, but flights out of MCI weren't nearly as low as they have been the past 2 times we've purchased. I may need a contingency plan! :goodvibes

Good luck to all who are trying to buy for early spring trips--I hope you get great rates and flight times!

Got a great price both ways out of Austin............$89 each way! :woohoo:
SW becomes an even better deal when you have (free) checked bags!! :cool1:
And, for the "icing" on my cake...........I used one of my credit cards that's giving a 5% cashback reward on airlines! :cheer2:

I am so jealous! lol Seriously, that is awesome, and I am happy for you. :goodvibes I just wish Houston could get some of the SW luv that they show Dallas and Austin!

Anyone know why they opened up so early today? Seems unfair to the west coast customers.

Funny you posted that; because we decided to change our dates to accomodate airfare rates - imagine that.
We now depart a day earlier 2/16 at 6pm ($99 nonstop) and return day earlier on 2/25 at 7pm - so we'll see you on Southwest ! We'll be the ones they have to drag on the plane refusing to leave Florida. :rotfl:

Sorry; yes to be technically correct all the "wanna get away" non-stops were sold out. Lucky you ; a solo trip - I could only dream. As of now I have @ 12 of my family (in-laws)on flight with us; we'll have @ 20 for the week.

To be honest, I wish we had the same week off. I've got to thaw out, so going solo is better than not going at all, but I'd rather do it with them.

Just checked my flights for Pres Week out of PHX. They have definitely cut down service to MCO. When I traveled in January last year, there were at least 8 flights to choose from and now there are only 5. The prices are still better than USAirways and they do offer at least one nonstop flight but I was hoping for a late flight out of MCO. Not going to happen. Oh well.
;)
