Question for those with the companion pass. After I get mine (probably May or June), I assume I can cancel the flight for my DH I booked with points for our Oct trip and use the pass?

Absolutely. I did this for our trip in November. We finally got the pass only a few days before our departure. I first booked a companion ticket, THEN cancelled the ticket we reserved with points. Don't let your ticket go until you know the companion pass ticket is reserved.

Does the price matter? If you wait to book the companion spot and the price is higher than your paid (or booked on points) ticket that's okay right?

I just wanted to thank all of you for pointing out the southwest CC. I was planning on driving from Chicago to Orlando until I stumbled across Dis while planning our Disney trip..

You guys saved me 1,300. My family of 4 is flying for 20 bucks.
My wife laughed when I told her about this, now she is smiling ear to ear.

When i did mine last month it was 2500 in the first 3 months. i just hit that mark and they said i should see them on my next statement so depending on how much you spend and when you book you could be okay.

i just checked on the SW site and it looks like the promo is over, only offering 25,000 pts. did i miss something?

You didn't miss anything. Chase sent out referral codes to select, current card members. The current card member gets 5K in bonus points for everyone they get to sign up using their code. The new card holder get 50K for signing up using the code and spending $2K in the first 3 months. The PPs were spamming the board with their referrals.

ETA: Don't try to PM me for a code. I don't accept PMs and I'm not offering my codes to anyone.

It looks like those posts have been removed. I wasnt sure if it was a safe thing to do or not anyway. Hopefully southwest will offer that promo again soon!

I don't get why you remove those offers. I know you don't want spam up here for referral begging, but in this case people need/want the 50K offer and Diz boarders could help one another out. Not like people are posting hidden links to illicit websites. Some board memebrs have codes that can get other board members a GREAT deal. Oh well, what do I know.

I don't know whether you're addressing me directly (since you quoted me) but I didn't remove your post. If you have an issue with it, you need to take it up with the webmasters instead of here. It's their board and their rules.

I wish message boards would allow referrals, I would post mine here also- however this is not unique to the disboards, so we must adhere to the rules of the boards.

I got the card a few months ago and got the 50000 points. I was told the promo was over but found an offer page by googling it. I called the 800 number on that page and asked if 5he page was still valid. 5he guy said if this number still works the 50000 points offer is Still good. I could look if u want I had the page saved.

I googled "SW promotions" found the one offering 50,000 points and called the number. I was approved and the deal was still valid! This will pay for 2/4 roundtrip flights to Disney!
