I have been waiting and waiting for Southwest to release their dates beyond October 28th - we will be at Disney October 29th to November 2nd for a short Halloween trip. Well, yesterday I got a DING offering a rate of $32 one way from New Orleans to Orlando for travel from Sept 1 to October 28. I really debated leaving a day early but finally decided not to. Last night I had second thoughts about passing up that rate and getting to Disney 17+ hours earlier but oh well, what's done is done. Don't you know Southwest offered the same DING rate again today! It proved to be more than I could take and we now have one way tickets to Orlando for October 28th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

Sorry, but what is this and at $32, how do I get it!!!!!

DING! is a FREE downloadable program on SW's web site that sends live, interactive updates and specials to your computer throughout the day. Current systems abole to support the program are: Windows 98SE, ME, NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6), 2000, XP, and 2003. It's not available for Macs yet, unfortunately.

Periodically throughout the day airline with send out a set of LIMITED-TIME OFFERS –– Orlando is one of those from certain cities (I got Louisville to Orlando on a DING! for $79/OW a few weeks ago, and Chicago quite often comes up at $29/$34/OW). The catch is you have to book it immediately, as the offer usually expires in a couple of hours.

If you already have your flight booked, you can cancel your ressie and have the airline issue you a ticketless travel fund, which you can then use to pay for the new fare.

I highly recommend Ding; the Chicago to Orlando fares have been unreal. I never had any desire to fly SW until ATA bailed, but now I am a convert. Even if ATA was still flying, I think SW's $105 Dings would have won me over.

Ding is absolutely awesome. My huhsband and I got a Ding fare from Indianapolis to Orlando for only $40 each way per person (that INCLUDES taxes & fees) for our upcoming trip next month. The cheapest we ever got prior to Ding was flying out of Chicago to Orlando for $55 each way. That was June 2004 and we got it through the e-newsletter.

I just wanted to say hi, Pocahantas. It's me, Cocowum. :earboy2:

Just curious, Pocahantas - what rate did you get for your return flight? Did you get it for $32 as well?

Arg! It's so unfair you guys all get such excellent DING fares! I have yet to see fares like those! Yes, I know there was a nashville one for $39, but not for our friends dates--we usually fly STL-MCO, and would make an extra quickie spontaneous trip anytime if I could get $39 each way!!

Return flight?? You mean we need to come back home?? Just joking!! :rotfl: We have not booked return flights home yet because those schedules have not opened up yet. I am hoping Southwest will offer another $32 DING fare after they open up their flight schedule beyond October 28.

It's just not fair, is it?!?

We are leaving from Nashville on 09/30. SW has offered a $39 fare for travel thru 09/29 the last 2 Tuesdays! Aaaaagh!! :sad2:

I would love to get that $39 fare for my friends, but they need it for Oct 10-16th. C'mon DING! :Pinkbounc
