Hello

I have lived in Southwest Florida for the past 15 years and haven't really tried my hand at gardening. I always seem to have things backwards. I grew up in Phillly, and after all this time in Florida, I still have the idea of planting in the spring. From what I have heard, It is better to start in the fall instead because of the heat/humidity in Florida.

So, does anyone have any suggestions for summer plantings. I love flowers, I bought a few hanging baskets, but of course by the end of the day, they are droopy and dying for water.

Any ideas you can pass along would be great!

Thanks!
Jeannie

Hi:
I live in Orlando, and I found using drought resistant plants such as plumbago, pentas gives you great colours and you ar enot constantly watering.

I luv impatients, but they are name so cause they can't survive the heat without a drink of water.

Other things to consider the area of planting and how tall they plant will get?

I also luv fire bush and Coleus they do really well.
